thinking of battery replacement out of pocket

Pay for it. People have had the battery’s changed under warranty still to have the same issue. Stock is H6 too small. If you do it go H7 or H8 if it will fit. Resetting the BMS is simple
yes, i'm leaning toward that. but will opting for a non-Ford battery void the factory warranty?

I ran into the same issue. The warnings lasted for 3-4 days, but went away on their own. I'm replacing my original battery with a Yellow Top, so we will see. I'll let you know in a month if it solved things.

Hate to circle back to this thread but about one year after I replaced the Ford battery with a Walmart battery most of people recommend here, the same battery low symptoms came back: FordPass shows low battery mode, drive to reconnect vehicle, the welcome chime went back to the mono tone instead of out of speakers. I took the truck to the dealer today and now they’re telling me the components connect to the battery all checked out fine, but my one year old battery was just tested “marginal”. Since it’s not a Ford battery, there’s nothing more they can do.

You’re the first to say this that I have seen. Did you upgrade in size to H7 or H8 depending on your truck? I went to H7 interstate 2 years ago not one problem sense. Did you change the state of charge? Reset the BMS? Have you tried driving with fan on 5 or higher to make alternator produce power? How far do you drive daily?

I bought the H7, not sure I even know how to change state of charge. Dealer has reset BSM when they installed the replacement Walmart battery (so they said), I’ve tried the fan thing as well. As far as daily driving, we haven’t driven it a lot (2 times a week about 10 miles each trip), but when the battery issue surfaced, we have been driving it almost everyday at about 10-15 miles daily.

These trucks don’t like short trips. I went h7 have had no problems. I would have your battery tested see what they say. Could be a bad battery or just lack of driving. Maybe you need a battery tender to keep it charged. I drive like 10 miles a day. I just got back from a 2 week vacation and truck started right up. Sat for 12 days.

i have no problem starting the truck either. It’s just the vehicle in battery save mode from FordPass app, and the weird welcome chime sound are driving me nuts.

i have no problem starting the truck either. It’s just the vehicle in battery save mode from FordPass app, and the weird welcome chime sound are driving me nuts.
do a search here in the form about the auxiliary battery. Would most likely think that that’s your issue

I replaced mine out of a ~2 month old 2024 to an H8 from Wal-Mart. No issues. and many times the truck sits for 3-4 days. since I rotate out driving my other vehicles. If I know I wont be driving it more than a week, I put it on a battery maintainer.

Like Faa says, if you haven't also changed your aux battery under the back seat, that is probably your issue. Good luck.

You have a Powerboost.
Many dealerships are clueless about them or their variances from the other F150's.

I'm not surprised that they never mentioned or considered the auxiliary battery. Which is hilarious since it IS vital to the operation of the vehicle.
