I had numerous issues with deep sleep, failed OTA updates, walk-up lights not working, etc. Ford, of course, said battery was in spec.
I replaced the battery with my own coin, reset the BMS in the driveway, and haven’t had a single issue since. ~260 bucks or whatever it cost was well worth everything working as it should now.
I got the free oil changes for life when I bought my truck. I asked them 3 different times to check/replace the battery. They said they were aware of the issues with these trucks and the OEM batteries, but Ford's protocol was that they had to charge the battery, test it and only then if it tests bad they were "allowed" to replace it under warranty. Of course, after charging the battery it always came back in spec. I guess I was just hoping that the dealership would replace it out of it being the right thing to do. That doesn't seem to be the case.
I have been dealing with the power save mode, entry lighting not working and missing updates for about a year now. Luckily it has always started even if when it sounds like it doesn't want to. I will be replacing it out of pocket before winter hits just to save myself the headache of working an already frustrating 12hr shift to come out to a dead truck.
