What battery charger do you use to 'trickle charge' the PowerBoost AGM battery? I am not driving much and need to charge my battery every week.

I prefer the NOCO Genius 1amp charger

My truck came with an H7. Replaced under warranty with an H6. Its dying now. Not a PB.

So, if I understand, H8 should fit and I dont need to do any forescan magic..it should swap in just fine?

Sounds like the jury is out on the blanket, use it if you have it.. Dont worry about it if you dont.

Charge the battery to 100% then do the bms reset in the manual.

Sounds like the Walmart Everstart h8 should work just fine and be better than the motorcraft battery. Is there a much better brand I should be looking at?

Did I say anything incorrect or miss anything?

Non powerboost looks like you have everything correct. The brand is up to you with how much you want to spend.

Don't want to start a new thread but which size batteries are needed if you wanted to change both of them before a long trip. I understand that you can use an H8 instead of an H7 (Group 49) in one of the spots (aux?), as long as you trim the tray, but what about the other one in the engine compartment? Thanks

No you have that backwards. Non powerboosts can use h6, h7, or h8 in the main engine compartment battery tray. Powerboost trucks can only use the h7 battery. Now for the aux battery in the powerboost that is under the back seat it can take a larger battery (i dont remember what the size is) but the tray must be trimmed.

Edit
Here was one of the larger aux batteries that worked with minor trimming.

Thank you for that.
Was able to get an Interstate H7 and that same ETX15 battery from O'reilly's today to replace the aux battery. My old H7 measured 12.71V after it was removed and I couldn't find a date on it (I'm not the original owner). The Aux battery had a 6/21 sticker on it and measured 12.49V. I did have to trim those 2 tabs, no big deal, but it doesn't have a vent like the old one did.

I was starting to get that 'Charging System Service required' warning the past couple of days and have a long trip next week so wanted to nip it in the bud by changing both and resetting the BMS using the 5x brights/3x brake option...Pretty weird but guess it worked because I did see the battery symbol flash 3 times.
