Yes i completely agree with you. I’m not going to be the delusional f*ck that thinks they’re going to recoup 100% of losses.
Like those dealers that add a lift and tires to a new truck and try and charge an extra $25K+. ?

Everything is for sale at the right price. It doesn't sound like you NEED to sell, you just WANT to sell. That's a huge benefit to you: ask what you want and if you get it great. If not, you still have a great truck. I happily tell folks that I'd part with my gutted 1978 AS Tradewind for $125k. I haven't had any takers and don't expect to, but that's what it's worth to me and I don't particularly want to sell it. I'd sell my truck for $90k; nobody in their right mind would pay that, but I'd accept the offer. A high bid-ask spread is only an issue for "highly motivated" market participants and market makers; everyone else just gets to sit on what they've got.

I should also add in too. I do NOT need to sell the vehicle in anyway, shape or form lol. I just do not mind selling it if i can get a price that i’m content with. However my gut does tell me that i won’t be happy with my truck later on down the road.

What are you planning to replace it with?

Long story short i don't think i will be happy holding onto my truck for the long run. I have had thousands of dollars worth of stuff done to my Lariat. Do you think folks think it is fair for me to list my truck higher than private party value in attempts to minimize losses or? I have no plans whatsoever of trading in the truck because i know that'll be a TON of money lost lol. TIA!
On my 30+ truck/suv. I’ve spent huge sums on aftermarket parts and add ons and the only way to get an appreciative offer would be to sell it close to a highschool graduation month. I’ve had enormous amounts spent on my vehicles and have never had a decent offer as a trade in but ALWAYS did better selling them out right. You’ll NEVER get what you put into it, that’s reality. An actual lift isn’t able to be put back to stock but a level yes.

Can I ask why you cannot return a vehicle to stock after it has been lifted? If all parts were retained that were removed, why is it not possible to replace them? Just curious .

Well, a lift means you’ve torch/wheel cut your front support part of the frame where as a level doesn’t involve cutting a section of your frame off.

When I buy a new truck I add all the mods when I first get it so I can enjoy the mods for the duration I own it. I know I won’t get shit for the mods on trade or sale so I like to do things that will make the truck easy to sell. I don’t consider a lift easy to sell. I won’t buy a lifted truck or one that has towed a heavy trailer most of its life.

I like to do all my mods 1 week AFTER I sell it to the other party. It is usual very tough to accomplish, but it can be done if you are very sneaky.

A lift of that size would certainly cut value and limit the market.

From my perspective, you lifted it, it had problems, now you're getting rid of it. Lifts often mess up tons of stuff and cause issues. Why are you selling it if there isn't anything you're even looking to replace it with presently? Nothing but red flags.

I think he was having electrical gremlins. His transmission was acting up then now his starter has been slow to crank…..come to think of it OP. Have you swapped out the battery with all these weird issues? A weak battery will do some CRAZY shit, my Expedition was throwing the strangest codes and shifting like CRAP and it was a battery. The battery also tested fine, until you put a big draw on it like starting.

Reselling is the only downside of modifying your vehicle. I kept my 04 Ram Hemi for 11 years and loved it but it turned out to be a loser money-wise. As many complements as it got when compliments came to shelling out money a different story.
