My mistake :( ...need help selling New Truck

He has a PB, just confused about the options on it. I'd bet the dealer told him it's the 36 gallon with Max Tow like the non PB have.



There's at least 1 possibly 2 people on here who had the 2.4Kw inverter upgraded to the 7.2W. If I remember correctly it took about an hour for the dealer to do the upgrade since it's just the inverter module on the passenger side frame and panel in the bed as well as a quick programming update.

Ha, good question, I drove it up to the dealership and the sweet young lady hooked up a code reader while we were waiting for a loaner and the code back back inconclusive; or something like "CODE NOT DEFINED".
What was interesting was "it seemed the code was only coming up in ECO Mode" When she started the truck up in NORMAL Mode, we didn't see the code.

So, we'll see...I'm patiently waiting to get my truck back and turn their loaner in.
Heck I haven't even made one payment on it and only filled it up once!

In the future, go to your local auto parts store and ask them to read the code. It's free and many of them are pretty good using an OBDII code reader.

This quote is from the 2021 F150 brochure which is little changed for 2022. I hate being the bearer of bad news.

One thing I have figured out over the years. I know more about the truck I want than the salesman does.

The max tow on the PB swaps out the rear axles for ones that break off their bolts. No benefit on the powerboost as it's already got pretty much all of the upgrades. You want the longer wheelbase if anything.

To be more correct, Max Tow swaps out the regular axle for the 3/4 Floating Axle, pn any truck, not just PB.

If it makes you feel any better, my 2018 3.5 KingRanch Ecoboost with a 36 gallon tank had almost exactly the same range as my 2022 KingRanch Powerboost with a 30 gallon tank.

So when someone asks me how much more efficient is my Powerboost, I tell them about 6 gallons worth.
