"The trucks with the 7.2KW pro power are a way to generate power but require the engine to be running so not a good solution for extended use."

Not continuously.
I was on generator mode for 5 hours a couple of days ago, due to power outage. Since the RV didn't need Air Conditioning, I was only drawing about 450-500watts.
So the trucks ICE only ran about 6-7 minutes per hour. (3-4 events for about 90 seconds each)

My 7.2Kw generator certainly doesn't run all the time when the trailer is plugged in. In an hour, the engine may run 8-12 minutes. Over a tailgate weekend, I used no more gas using the truck generator than I did with the Honda EU2000i Hondas.

Thank you for the great advice. I’ll give those things a try. ?
I just did something similar and did not loose anything. I paid 58k for my 22 Lariat and drove it 6000 miles 3mos, and my dealer gave me $61,500. Also remember when you trade it in, you only pay tax on the difference so that saved me from loosing that which was another $2200.
So maybe you can find a powerboost on the lot slightly used or an order that was declined.
Granted I had waited for that Lariat for 9 mos so by delivery there had been 2 price increases so that helped on the trade value.
btw what I reordered was a Platinum with the 2kw power because I didnt want the powerboost Also with powerboost it seemed that you couldnt get the 36 gal tank that was High on my list. It lets me drive 720 miles on one tank. :) Love that option

In VA, we pay taxes the purchase price. We get no relief for the trade in amount.

@F150RLA What codes is it throwing?
Ha, good question, I drove it up to the dealership and the sweet young lady hooked up a code reader while we were waiting for a loaner and the code back back inconclusive; or something like "CODE NOT DEFINED".
What was interesting was "it seemed the code was only coming up in ECO Mode" When she started the truck up in NORMAL Mode, we didn't see the code.

So, we'll see...I'm patiently waiting to get my truck back and turn their loaner in.
Heck I haven't even made one payment on it and only filled it up once! ;)

WOW That is an amazing trade in value! I had 3 dealerships that had the truck I wanted, but all said $10,000+ below my Sticker price. :(

FWIW, my F150 Powerboost has the 2.4 KW gen & the max tow package that includes the 36 gal tank.

You do not have a PB that has the 36 gallon tank. If your truck has a 36 gal tank, it's not a PB. If your truck is indeed a PB, then the gas tank is 30.6 gallons. All PB's have the 30.6 gal tank, only.

Max Tow does include the 36 gal tank, except for any Power Boost.

He has a PB, just confused about the options on it. I'd bet the dealer told him it's the 36 gallon with Max Tow like the non PB have.

There's at least 1 possibly 2 people on here who had the 2.4Kw inverter upgraded to the 7.2W. If I remember correctly it took about an hour for the dealer to do the upgrade since it's just the inverter module on the passenger side frame and panel in the bed as well as a quick programming update.

Here's one thread on it.

1.) I'm 100% I have a Power boost.

2.) I'm also positive I have the Max Tow Package.
I'm disappointed if it doesn't have a 36 gal tank because; a 36 gal tank is what was included in the Max Tow Packable. :(

3.) Can you please provide the link if you can find that post? Thank you!

The reason for the smaller tank is to make room for the hybrid battery unit. With the increased mpg on the PB you really are not missing the extra 6 gallons in most cases anyway.
