My Lariat already has the power tailgate but I added the DeeZee version to my two previous Rams when they were new and on the older one it still works after 150K just fine.

who’s willing to admit they installed one of these?

Why? Is there something to be ashamed about it? I did and it was one of the best investments at the time for my '18. Found an OEM kit discounted for almost the same price and upgraded to that. When I got my '21 I installed that same DeeZee kit until I found an OEM kit discounted online as well.

In my prime I curled over 150 lbs per arm, benched/inclined over 415 lbs, military pressed 405 lbs, shrugged 960 lbs, squatted 550 lbs, and leg pressed over 1k lbs (all natural and recorded PBs were set in UW's athlete weight room). Would love those fools to come at me when I enjoy using a limp wrist to lift my tailgate rn. Keyboard tough guys! LOL

I just enjoy a nice slow remote drop when I'm walking up to the truck with my stuff from hardware store. Is that manly enough? ?

I received a tailgate damper for Christmas. I took it off within a couple of months of installing. I didn't care for it. It's not like the tailgate is that heavy anyway.

If there's anybody in the Hampton Roads, VA area looking for one, I'll gladly sell the tailgate damper to you.

I have had one on my last 4 trucks. Prevents the wife and kids from dropping the tailgate when they open it. Great mod for cheap.

I use my tailgate all the time and got a Rough Country tailgate assist. Super easy to install and really does make a difference.
