July 2022 PB.. Has a single push button for the tailgate..

However, I haven't figured out what the button above the gas tank release button is for!

Makes sense! I have pushed it during day time and didn't see anything happen!

It's for the cargo light....

Those that have the 2x button do you have power release and power close or power release only?

Great question, I'm betting you're about to 'hone-in' on the answer to the mystery ;)

(one-touch when you can open and close with the dash button, two-touch when you can't close it with the dash button)

Yeah.. Looks like the power release and close have teh single press and power release only have the double press.

So Im betting that will be the way it shakes out.

I puled a bunch of 22 new builds limited tat have the power up and down and none had double press.

I pulled a bunch of XLTs and they all did have double press.

So Im pretty sure that is the reason that we see some with the 2x and some without for the later 22s.

The 21s have the ability with the BCM update to make it double press for power release only though.

So it seems to me that is the breakdown.

Yes. As far as I know, you could not get power close in a 22 XLT.
That's my understanding too, just confirming.

That blows my 'bet' on the one-touch dash button unless the two-touch button wasn't introduced at all until late 2022 builds, perhaps that's what @Jesse-Infotainment is saying is the 'additional qualifier' (?) ...

Yes. Anyone with any build prior to march or April will by default has single push. Those Trucks have a BCM update available to allow to configure for the double press but the update is apart of a CSP that involve wiring additions from the dealer. Also that CSP is only for trucks with power release.
