My last 3 F150's were crew cab w/6.5' bed. I may keep my '21 longer than I have on the past trucks because I can't get a crew cab w/6.5' bed in an XLT or Lariat without the chrome package anymore

Had a 2015 Platinum, 6.5” bed was a requirement in any color but black. Just replaced it and had the same requirements this time around. Yes, it comes with some compromises in parking garages and some cities, but it definitely rides better towing our boat, and it’s an awesome highway cruiser. We put surf and wakeboards, skis and fishing poles in the truck all the time. Not to mention usability for loading firewood and well, anything else.

Agree 100% with everything you said is an advantage with the 6.5 foot bed, but I also am of the opinion that it just LOOKS better, more balanced against the big crew cab.

To each their own...

When the 3.5 eco was introduced, I began dreaming of the day I would splurge and buy a brand new one. When the Gen 14 came out, I was sold on a Lariat screw as it checked the boxes on what I was looking for. In early 2021, i located what I wanted and it happened to have a 6.5 bed. It drove amazing. I was sold, but I was having a tough time justifying spending so much on myself so I walked away from the truck, hopped in my old truck (2002 Ford Ranger extended cab 4x4 with the 4.0L) whimpering down the road the first few miles until I reminded myself I had no truck payment.

Fast forward to April 2021, the transmission went out in the Ranger. It ran great for a few months and then while under warranty the valve body failed due to a manufacturing defect (repair shop actually called before ut went put and notified me). It was then my wife said go buy your dream truck. I wound up with a 3.5 eco Lariat screw with a 5.5 bed. I liked the longer bed, but the short bed leaves me an additional 12 inches of space to walk around the truck while parked in the garage. Thats a big deal when located in ne ohio in Dec thru March. In our next home, we'll have a larger garage and I'll pick up a 6.5 then or an f-350 screw with a 10kw ppob set up🤩

My 23 is a short bed only because no dealer in 250 miles had a 6.5 bed. I still have my 250 with the 6.5 bed, if my 23 had the longer bed it would be perfect for my usage.

I just did a search on Ford's site and it keeps sending me to short bed trucks did not show a 6.5 within 250 miles.

I’ll add that there were probably 20 used 22-24 157” wb trucks within 100 miles of Chicagoland in June and July when I bought my ‘25. I also test drove a few different brand new 157” ‘25s varying from Lariat to Platinum in both eco and powerboost. There were definitely a lot more XLTs too available but I was looking for a highly equipped truck and the Platinum leather spoiled my bougie butt….
