The engine weight is very odd to me, right ? Physically the 5.0 looks alot bigger .
Ford 5.0= DOHC
GM 6.2=Pushrod

Even the 7.3 Godzilla looks smaller than a 5.0L as the 7.3L is a pushrod design.

Displacement on the 6.2 will mean it has to be a larger block, it may be more compact since it is a cast iron block.

5.0 block is aluminum.

The weight of aluminum per cubic inch is ~0.0975 pound.

The weight of iron per cubic inch is ~0.26 pound.

So an aluminum block could be double the size of an iron one and still weigh less.
