Look at _any_ 14th gen F-150 and you will notice some imperfection in door and body panel alignments. Ford's high tolerance for misalignment is unreal.

OP, were you able to switch to 36?

If not hauling or towing, get a 2.7. I’ve had the 2.7 and currently have a 3.5. There is a difference in passing speed on the highway, but for city driving they feel the same, except you’ll easily get 2-3mpg better with the 2.7.

They are not terribly uncommon where I live in Metro Detroit. If anything I’m seeing more of them then I ever have before.
