I've had a few creaks and rattles in my truck and have been able to lick them all. But now with hotter weather I THINK I'm getting a creaking sound from somewhere around the passenger front door window controls.

What is happening is that, especially when in bright sunlight, I keep getting a creak sound like the plastic is expanding in the sunlight. It eventually stops after a few minutes once everything is heated up.

But when I press around the area of the window controls, it does creak. By comparison, the drivers side door does not make any noise when I press around the plastic.

Can the various pieces be disassembled? And then I can work on putting some felt in there to hopefully quiet things down?

Its possible that it could be that A-Pillar issue everyone discusses but I've taken that thing off so many times and lined absolutely everything in felt that I don't think it is my issue. Pretty sure it is this area in the photo.

Appreciate any input.

That black piece will come out as one unit. Be gentle. Mine cracked when I changed window switch panel for power mirrors. It will want to crack where it gets thin.

Any easy solutions to this? I have the problem on my driver side, not passenger side. Incredibly annoying.

I also have the same issue drivers side, when I press the silver trim outwards (towards the exterior) it creaks and annoys me. If I don't touch it its not a problem, but because I know its there I notice it all the time. Was thinking about using a credit card and just shoving some butyl in there

I never replied (OP here). I was able to carefully use a trim tool to remove all those panels around the window switch and the door lock.

I bought a thin felt sheet from a local craft store. One side has very light adhesive. Stuck some very small pieces of felt in the areas where I thought the parts were rubbing. It seems to have helped the creaking door panel.

Unfortunately I don't think it was the main rattle culprit for me. I still get a cold weather rattle on sharp bumps. Somewhere near door/A-Pillar/glovebox... something over there. It goes away when the heat runs long enough. I'm not sure I'm ever gonna find it, unfortunately. I've got felt all over that "sail" panel, parts of the glovebox, a loose connector dangling in the fuse box by the passenger footwell, I felted all around where the A-Pillar handle could rub against the side of my dash. Still get a click over a bump in cold weather...

I'd say gently pry it up and just start sticking felt around and hopefully you can solve the door issue at least.
