My Truck will change speed on certain roads with no speed limit sign in sight while using Adaptive Cruise. Always at the same place.
Any suggestions how this could be corrected? Thanks

Stop using adaptive cruise. Best guess, the database the truck is using has the wrong speed limit in it at that location that's being used and overriding the last sign the camera detected.

I see this, I hear you. But is there a yellow sign telling you to slow down or ANYTHING else with a number on it that the truck might think is a speed limit?

I have had problems in the past with it slowing down the 55mph in California because that's the limit for vehicles towing, or even slowing to 65 in Michigan because that is the semi-truck speed limit.

I never turn on the speed sign recognition. I don't like the way it SLAMS on the brakes to slow down at the edge of town.

Latest OTA sent to my MME has it doing all sorts of retarded things. One stretch of road in particular, suddenly it's dropping to 30mph in a 65 for no reason at all. Very familiar with the system but it's gone full-retard lately.

Thanks for the reply. Two routes I drive every day neither has any posted speed limit sign. All of the sudden it goes from 50 to 25 for no reason I can find. While driving on a frontage road speed limit 50, it will pickup the freeway sign way off to my left and speed up to 75. On interstate 19 for no reason reduces speed from 75 to 65. No sign in sight. I kind of like the feature. I guess I should just shut it off and quit complaining. LOL

Yep that is the way I feel mine is. Maybe I will make sure I have the latest software. Thanks for the reply.

It's the latest software that introduced the bug FWIW.

Yep same here, very noticeable past couple weeks. Stretch of straight highway I drive all the time and speed limit is 65, just the past two weeks in a certain spot it likes to slow down to 50-45 for some reason. Even on my long road trip yesterday in certain spots on I80 it would slow down randomly for some reason, no one in front of me and no speed limit change.

99% sure its due to how Ford is collecting and generating these "online speed maps." Every Ford vehicle with telematics is pretty much collecting data. If enough start slowing down in certain areas, that creates a trend in the system, if enough do it over a certain time, that most likely influences and alters the online speed map, which then gets pushed out to vehicles the next update, and now your truck slows down in random places because enough people did a month ago. That's just my theory.

Is there a slow down for a curve setting? I think my sisters Toyota has this but I don’t recall if I saw it on my F150.

I did turn off the adjust cruise control based on signs read feature. I still get the displayed sign in my dash, I can click a few buttons with my thumb to adjust manually

I’ve had no other issues with my adaptive or radar cruise or whatever you call it.

A recent update turned on the automatic speed recognition. You can still have adaptive cruise control and speed sign recognition. Just turn off the automatic speed setting on your infotainment screen.

I once owned a Polaris snowmobile that had the first for them 4 stroke turbo with an o2 sensor and an actual ECU. It had a bug in the software, dealer says bring it in and he preformed the software update. Called me up, come pick up your sled. Tells me the software update fixed the first bug, but introduced a second bug, which I had to then take the sled back once they had an update to cure it. Go figure.

Thanks for the reply, I dont see the "automatic speed setting" I am looking in the cruise control section. Is it in another menu? Thanks again.
