Indeed. In stop & go/crawl traffic it is amazing to let it do its thing, but as I mentioned above, while crawling, if flow comes to a complete halt for a period of time, my dash alerts me that I must hit the resume button to re-engage the crawl, or I guess you could say to dis-engage the brake.

If you have your distance set to the farthest setting, it does wait an uncomfortable amount of time to accelerate.
I think my biggest complaint is it stops way closer to the car in front then what I care for. My foot is always at the brake just waiting to manually stop it myself.

It would be great if the adaptive gap also made it stop further back.

Yep I agree. I always stop with enough room for an ‘escape route’ if needed. The ACC stops way to close imho!

This is the brave new world of AI in our daily driving.
Sure, it could use some polishing up and no doubt that's coming. But I'm thrilled Ford chose the bread&butter F150 to get the whole enchilada, rather than being prudent and limiting the development to the Mach-E and Lightning.

I tell you another recent addition that has completely changed my previous work flow is navigation. I was used to just setting up my route on the phone and then letting Android Auto bring it to Sync. But the native Alexa in Sync is extraordinarily convenient and has changed my routine. I do zero prep. I'm driving along and decide I want to take an alternate route from my norm and don't even have to touch any buttons. I just say "Alexa, give me a route to Nancy's in Columbus Texas"...... She instantly responds with her verbal description of the route and loads it on the Sync screen. It's fantastic!

I didn't have Alexa before Ford caved into it. Now I'm driving along and decide I want avacados next time I go to HEB. Alexa, add avacados to my grocery list.

Ford has turned me into a 64 year old nerd. My 33 year old daughter just rolls her eyes now when I brag about my new truck. Lol

Nancy's is a steak house just off the exit for 71 off I-10.

(I often drive round trip from Alvin to San Antonio and back. I try to avoid the interstate near San Antonio or Houston. Miserable construction for the last decade or more. Columbus is an option to get off or on I-10)

as i understand, i can use android auto through usb cable, and have alexa control navigation on the big screen vice the phone, and its better or more real time than the connected nav and wifi modem in truck? how will that interact with pandora?
i have to go read my book some more.

Yes, I use connected Android Auto simply because it keeps my phone charged as well.
Alexa will use the Ford native navigation when I ask her for a "route".

I now let Alexa find my songs for me often too, and she even let's me stream through Spotify rather than her mothership Amazon.

I do have the monthly subscription for the onboard modem system with Ford. I haven't gone through the trouble to figure out exactly what streaming is using my phones bandwidth VS the trucks cellular bandwidth, to be honest. And I don't fault anyone for NOT subscribing to Ford's various subscriptions. But for me this fully dolled up KingRanch Powerboost is sort of a pre-retirement bucket-list adventure and I'm not penny pinching at the risk of gimping some feature.

I can save the 10 bucks somewhere else in my life. Lol

I'm having way too much fun pushing all the buttons and seeing what magic this crazy truck has in store for my next ride.

I'm giving my 90 year old dad a ride from the hospital in Texas City to his home in San Antonio today. It's going to be fun spending 3 or 4 hours showing him some of what will be like science fiction to him. :)

my AT&T modem runs out the 22nd so i am leaning hard to do the 200 a year unlimited gb.
the connected services (updated nav) is on a 3 year run from when i bought it as part of the kr package, hidden stuff you never really see until you log in to ford owner site
plus i see i have 3 yrs of weather through xm.
funny is the weather, road, traffic etc it seems is gathering data from several sources. it works really well imo. so far
enjoy the ride today its going to be warm and humid

I realize we've gone off-topic but I will add that I used to love Ford+Alexa on my 2017 because the previous android auto was not great. But wireless Android Auto is superior now for googoo maps vs Ford nav. So I end up with googoo assistant, and Youtube music (4 subscriptions comes with Youtube family premium for $20/month to get no ads), and googoo maps.

I really wish you could easily switch back and forth between Alexa and AA, but it is EITHER/OR, not both! I miss Alexa sometimes because of this. I do use Ford nav to get a different view as I have it set to 3D rotating, with breadcrumbs and gas stations visible. When I need to confirm where I've been or quickly scan for gas stations I don't have to end my route, just switch views and pan a bit. Also it can be visible as a card if I have something else on main screen.

So if I have adaptive cruise control enabled and I come to a complete stop at some lights behind another vehicle, will the truck set off of its own accord again when traffic starts moving again?

I’ve tried to test this a couple of times in traffic but the truck doesn't appear to start when traffic starts moving again. Or at least if it does it waits an unacceptably long time to do so.

Do I just need to blip the throttle to get it to start and get back upto the set speed?
If I am In regular stop/go traffic and it comes to a complete stop you just have to hit resume or tap the gas pedal, your choose for convenience. If you are in a traffic jam stop/go and under a certain speed limit ( I believe under 30km/h) and the camera sees trafic around you, when you come to a halt it will start off automatically, there will be a message that pops up on the dash to let you know it is in that mode but I forgot what it says.
It does it towing with both scenarios as well which is really cool.

To get it going again, press the accelerator and you'll notice the cruise will resume again at which point you can remove your foot from the accelerator.
