So I picked up my truck from the dealer last night, and was infuriated to see that after having it for 4 days, they had NOT installed updates (as was clearly agreed upon prior to bringing it in). I had even verbally confirmed that they installed any update(s) when they called to notify me it was done.

Dealer issues aside, I feel like I've just wasted yet another week having this truck in - I think I'm up to about 35 days this thing has been at the dealer in less than 16 months of owning it. On the 3 trips I've taken since picking it up I haven't seen the myview reset, although I'm waiting a few more days before considering that "resolved". I also now have the options to enable and schedule updates restored.

The sync version, however, remains at 2062 r229 (exactly the same as it's been since I bought it). Dash cluster nav is still not working, no camera at speed, no bed cam card, no alexa, no blue cruise, etc.

What the Effff do I have to do to get this system updated?!

Mine sync say revision 253, but I am pretty sure it always has said that. I know earlier in this thread it was said the trailer brake recall reprogram thing was not out for anyone, but my dealer claims to have done it when I was there wednesday. I got the letter in the mail as well, though the dealer took that from me when he did the service. My fordpass doesn't show the recall on it anymore, so something was done, I just don't know what LOL.

Since I will be towing in the next couple weeks I guess I will have to keep a more watchful eye on things.

Hi Jesse, Are you referring to 21 Job 1's or 22's. I am a job 1 21 XLT 302
I haven’t dug through the thread, but I think he’s talking about Job 1 trucks with the 12” Sync screen. That’s the version I have after the updates I applied Monday.

I don’t think XLTs are up to this revision yet.

my dealer claims to have done it when I was there wednesday. I got the letter in the mail as well, though the dealer took that from me when he did the service. My fordpass doesn't show the recall on it anymore, so something was done, I just don't know what LOL.
I had also provided the recall info. On the invoice, they referenced RECALL22s17. Services performed include "Reprogram trailer module" and "Updated TRM to latest software".

The invoice also claims that they performed TSB 22-2150 and "Replaced Gateway Module pr TSB 22-2123". The GWM had already been replaced on a previous visit, so I'm interpreting this as the programming component of that replacement(?)

At any rate, if I had ANY confidence if Ford's ability to get these issues fixed, I suppose I could presume that they did perform the necessary items in order to restore my truck's ability to receive OTA updates. That being said, I'm still not a happy camper since:
  1. Nothing they've done on my previous 6 visits have had any effect on OTA update capability
  2. The "Big" update that was released earlier this year (I don't recall the specific ID) is, to my understanding, unable to be pushed OTA and needs to be dealer-installed with FDRS. I could be mistaken on this; I'll have to go back and check.
  3. I specifically told the service manager that I wanted updates INSTALLED. He's had this truck for over a month of cumulative service days... At this point, they recognize my voice and know my name when I call, so I have a very hard time understanding how there can be any miscommunication in regards to what my request was.
If nothing else, I regained my fordpass connectivity and the ability to view/edit the sync update settings. Also, I've not seen the myView reset again after a few trips (but I'm still giving it another few days before considering that resolved). I was/am really hoping that one or more of the updates will resolve the myriad of other sync issues on my truck, so the fact that they didn't (or couldn't) install them manually has me legitimately boiling. I've been waiting almost a year and a half!

I called earlier and they said they would clarify what was done with the tech(s) and get back to me. One thing I'm curious about is: if they end up claiming that the work they performed will allow my truck to update OTA, how long should I reasonably wait before I can assess if that's true or just more BS? It took me months to originally discover that updates were failing, and was only able to determine that based on some remote "ping" performed by an online Ford service rep...

I just checked my fordpass widget and it's showing the 1.7.1 update as "canceled". The most recent timestamp is last night around 6pm (after I had picked up the truck form the dealer), but I confess I'm not fully confident in my ability to interpret the data. Really just wondering if I go back to the dealer with full force, or if there really is some possibility that I may start seeing OTA updates.

Below is the widget output:

Apple CarPlay® compatibility will display on-screen turn-by-turn navigation in your instrument cluster. The user-profile icons on your SiriusXM® with 360L radio are a bit bigger, and there were a couple of bug fixes. Ongoing updates like these help ensure that you’re always driving the best possible version of your F-150. Keep in mind that update availability varies by model.
