Not really, but a Whipple sure does.
I've been running a PC for at least 1 year.
It absolutely changes the way the truck drives. Instant throttle response, dialed up almost dangerously if you wanted it that way.
We are talking a couple hundred dollar modification that changes the driving feel vs thousands, also with less risk involved.

I have been trying with a supercharger for the past couple years, as recent as a call to my local vendor today, and I would for sure run a PC with a Whipple.

I was a non believer in the PC but I will always now run one.

A custom tune can do what a pedal commander does, and sooo many other things. Even without the supercharger, a custom calibration completely transforms they way these trucks (and Mustangs) drive. Fueling, ignition timing, transmission behavior, etc.

Sure, no disputing that.
I run a Livernois tune on my 5.0 with a PC.
When I do not have the PC connected, the tune itself isn't too great in terms of throttle response. I could have done a tune revision to make the throttle response more aggressive. What if I have a change of heart down the road, day or even same drive? I can adjust on the fly. Sometimes when I have it set a little too aggressive, I grow tired of it then dial it down some. There's zero flexibility like that with a tune alone, unless you want continual revisions or tune changes. Plus, if you're worried about warranty etc, you can unplug the PC and drive it into the dealer, no issues.

Tune, or no tune, the PC adds so many throttle adjustments to make the truck drive much differently.

I also reaaaaaly miss the electric AC, but I've learned to turn off the auto stop-start so I don't sweat at a stop light when the engine shuts off...

Kinda tough to defeat Auto stop/start on a Powerboost. Although it's hilarious that Ford listed Auto Stop/Start Delete on it.

They can SAY they deleted it, of course, but the Powerboost IS Auto Stop/Start by nature. And if it wasn't for the belt drive waterpump, the Powerboost wouldn't have a single pulley on it.

As far as getting in trouble in 10-seconds, I can't imagine a public road that I could floor it for 10 seconds. That go-to-jail speed even from a dead stop.
And cruising at say..... 65mph and desiring to overtake another vehicle? 5 seconds will have you at handcuff speed.

These current era F150's are all 60's-70's muscle car humiliaters. We are so jaded.

Agreed. We are all spoiled. Who'd a thunk that the majority of newer cars/trucks on the road probably average 350hp...

The first new car I paid for was a 96 Mustang GT. It felt fast at the time. It was 215 hp.

I am so glad my 2023 came without auto start stop. It’s nice to just idle at a light with no need to hit any buttons.
The auto start stop was just re-added by ford when I placed my factory order on my '23. Of coarse the 1 thing they put back that I didn't want. So I paid 11k to remove it but it also came with a whipple on top :crackup:

Exactly!
I bought my wife a convertible LX with the 5.0 in it. The Texas Highway Patrol drove them too.

We have seen the videos, it's a great engine and gets great mileage.

Often times the 2.7 trucks are lower trim (lighter) and have the thinner frame, lighter axles, etc (lighter) and it holds its own to 60 and then runs out of steam.

Since those 2018 videos that show the 2.7 matching or beating other trucks in certain conditions (that many magazines and reviews have proven them to be inaccurate) both the 5.0 and 3.5 had added power and are even quicker. The 2.7 has not.

Last note, at high elevation the 2.7 (and 3.5) will lose less than the 5.0 will. I'm those cases the 2.7 can beat the 5.0, but that's not the norm.
All apples to apples, same trims, same options that matter and the 2.7 is faster than the 5.0 and sometimes even the turbo/gas 3.5 in stock form and tune. Even Consumer Reports with their objective testing found the 2.7 to be faster.

In the video below the 5.0 with a tune is quick but it still cannot match forced induction, even at sea level.

Dude, that’s literally a mile above sea level. Also, last gen 5.0 made less torque and redline was 1,000 rpm lower. A 2018-2020 5.0 doesn’t stand a lick of chance against a current 5.0, 4th gen 5.0 peak torque is at a lower rpm and peak horsepower is at a higher rpm ~ meaning a much larger band of peak power.

and don’t even get me started on the 3.5 EcoBoost changes, HO pistons and HO turbos. Some of you guys are stuck in the past lol.

I think the 2.7 is a fantastic engine option for buyers, however Consumer Reports is evil ? ?

No, it most definitely is not. Like said. That video is 6 years old and the 3.5s got more power, the 2.7 did not. Even then, the 2.7 does not have the mid and top end pull of the 3.5. It's all 0-60 and then the 2.7 loses steam. Do you really think 75hp and 100 ft lbs of torque does nothing?

Or show me a stock 2.7 4wd crew doing 0-60 in 5.3 and a 13.6 1/4 @100. Because I have done that with my 3.5 truck.

Yup. My 5.0L has gotten 5.5 seconds reliably on 93 octane several times, I have yet to see a bone stock 2.7 even break 6 even. Then with E-85 it’s literally a 100 HP spread on stock mapping. Fords SAE certified dynoes don’t lie. Idk why people spread these falsehoods. The 2.7 is good and nothing wrong with it, but it is 100% not the fastest in the lineup.
