Should this move?

I have some sort of knocking going on. Whenever i accelerate. Brake. Then accelerate again, it feels like the driveshaft or something needs to move a 1/4 turn before anything engages.

i was under my truck and can turn this with my hand. Should it be able to turn?

Not sure what part his is called.

That’s your front driveshaft…….yes, it should turn a bit

There's a slight bit of machined clearance "slop" in the transfer case, park gear, as well as ring and pinion gears. This leads to the drive shafts being able to be rotated slightly by hand when not under load.

Unlikely to be the drive shaft that you highlighted. That’s supposed to move a bit. Could it be a broken engine or transmission mount?

Search "driveline clunk" or "slip yoke". It could be that yours needs to be greased.

Grease your drive shaft splines. To my trunk in sevearl time, no trouble founf cannot duplicate. I greased the splines, perfection. No more clunk.
