Is there a shipping company that this forum trusts that I could use to pickup and deliver the truck to Georgia?
I personally use Fisher Shipping for all my transport needs for work. I manage a fleet of~800 vehicles and I've never had an issue with them when I need vehicles moved.

I'm coming back to Ford again with my incoming '24 Lariat 5.0L 4wd. I too did my research and think they are in a good place with the 10 spd transmission now, and even the 3.5L Ecoboost. They have had time to work out the bugs. And as noted above, the Coyote is a SOLID engine with excellent relaibility, good power, and even better tuning options if you want to get crazy.

As you see with the new Tundras and will likely see with the RAM engine rollouts, there are teething pains early on with new models. I think Ford is past those teething pains with this generation of F-150. But quality with ANY manufacturer isn't what it used to be, and blaming "Covid" is no longer a viable excuse.

Order from their dealership in Iowa?

Would they have to drive the truck down here?

What would the benefit be versus ordering from my local guy?
I too ordered from Granger. Saved about $7k versus my local dealerships. Cheep Southwest flight out to Des Moines...Chip from Granger picks you up at the airport, drives you to Granger, you sign some papers and drive home.

Another alternative is Town & Country in Bessemer, AL. They're offering at invoice (vs the 4% discount at Granger). Depending on travel & time costs , one will be more advantageous than the other.

Regardless, it pays to do some research before visiting the "local guy". - If nothing else, you can go to him and show him the other options you have to attempt and negotiate a better deal.

They sure are! And contribute a lot of information to the forums. I ended up buying local as I had a connection to the owner of the dealership and pricing was competitive especially if I took into account travel costs. That said I don't think I have seen a single person say anything other than effusive praise for the folks at Granger. Mad respect for that company.

Meh. It's all a crap shoot.

Drive them all and see which one you like best. They all build pretty nice trucks nowadays.

I almost bought a 22 Tundra but the rates / price were better on the F150 and the Ford offered more features.

Didn't look at GM / Ram at the time cause I wanted the low end torque of a twin turbo for trailer towing.

If I was buying today however, I would probably buy a Ram with the Hurricane twin turbo inline 6.

Get extended warranty on whatever you buy and you'll be covered.

Tell them you're about to order from grainger and they'll match it (or you'll order from grainger). Perfect break-in road trip.

First post of this forum.

I am a potential new F150 owner. I have always owned Toyotas, but after this 22 Tundra rollout and the issues they are facing, I refuse to buy a Tundra.

I am currently looking and have offers on a 24 XLT 4WD with the 5.0 V8. I plan on purchasing the Ford Protect warranty too.

I have seen people complain about transmission issues and was wondering if any of this was fixed in the 24s. I have always had very reliable trucks and I do not want to have transmission issues on a truck with low miles.

Anything I should know or consider before purchasing? Should I wait until later in the summer or fall to purchase?

I am all ears and am ready to listen to everything y'all have to say.

Thanks!
My answer to this question is always YES.

The real question is how to buy one. I think many have already covered that.

I don't agree with the 5.0 being tried and true though. I believe they made some changes several years ago and didn't change the name of the engine. Only going on my ex neighbor's opinion as I have never owned one and he did and was not happy. That will take some more searching on your part though.

I just flew to Des Moines a couple weeks ago to get my 2024 701a powerboost. It was the easiest car/truck purchase I've ever had by miles. Not even in the same universe with the typical dealer BS. Drove home 1590 miles to Idaho. They surprised me with $3400 in rebates I wasn't expecting a couple days before my flight. Around $11k cheaper than I could get locally and the dealers here didn't even want to talk to me about the quote Chip at Granger gave me back in December.

Fully recommend Granger. Even with the drive back. If all things remain the same I will go to Iowa again for my next pickup.

My grand-daddies uncles sister said her 3.5 EcoBoost was a piece of junk

One thing also about Granger... They have the lowest dealer fee of ANY quote in Florida. No BS add-ons either. Extended Warranty was HALF the price of any quote down here..
