Seen in the wild today: F-250 Super Duty Hybrid

Just like the title says, I saw an F-250 Super Duty hybrid while driving back to work from lunch today. At least thats what the badging on the back of the truck said. It was a company truck, so perhaps a fleet vehicle or 3rd-party conversion?

I know there are reports of Ford developing a SD hybrid, but I haven seen anything advertised yet. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough?

I haven’t advertised having one at all.
Unless this is a test mule, I would say it’s somebody trying to pull off some BS.

For generally doesn’t advertise the features of test meals. And if this certainly was a thing it would’ve already been released.

I don't think it was someone trolling. It was an engineering company vehicle, not privately owned. No reason to be trolling. Must have been a 3rd party retro-fit.

Perhaps there are fleet hybrids being tested in the wild? I’ve heard Ford will introduce a SD Hybrid platform along with the Lightning refresh in 27/28 timeframe.

Apparently, a company called XL Hybrids (now XLFleet) managed to put some of these on the road back in ~2018, maybe even later ....
