Could I get both updates? VIN 1FTFW1ED7MFB86987

Last OTA you got was 4.2.4 on on 10/27. Did you buy this truck recently? PTS is showing that your modem is not authorized to send info. I'm not sure if that is causing an issue with updates or not, but this is not normal.

Can you please check my VIN? It's never showing any updates coming to my truck, but it's been 4 months since my last check here.

With no OTAs being sent to my truck, if I got a mongoose cable and FDRS, and manually did the updates, is there a chance that this would trigger something with Ford to start sending OTAs to my truck? Or is it likely that my truck will never get any OTAs sent to it?

After checking AsBuilt recently, there are a couple forscan updates that I did 9 months ago that never made it to the mothership. I wonder if this is related to the lack of OTAs.

Last OTA you got was 3.5.4 earlier this month. Before that, you got 3.5.3 the previous January. You are a bit behind. Modules pending updates are below. In your case, I would recommend going the FDRS route if you don't see the 4.x.x updates start coming in soon.

Would appreciate someone checking to see if I have any module updates available in FDRS. I have some time tomorrow and may fire up FDRS to perform any updates. Thanks. 1FTFW1ED6MFB86236.

I have been stuck on 6.4.0 failing to update since 12/7/2023. I have tried everything I can think of with forscan, battery tender, scheduling changes, fordpass support etc.. and no luck. Can anyone see what could be going on with the OTA update and if there are any component updates?

6.4.0 failed on 12/9, so whatever message you are seeing there, you can ignore. At this point, you have to wait for it to be resent. It failed with the error code:

"errorCode":"TCUFailedtoDisableScrub(900)""errorCategory":"ERROR_CATEGORY_AGENT(2)""ecuId":"1876""fpn":"SU5T-14H090-AGE"

Not sure what that means, tbh. You just to wait for it to be resent. Prior to this update, your OTA history is pretty extensive and clean. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Modules pending updates are below.

I reached out to @Jesse-Infotainment about this and he said he's seen this occur with a few others as well. He provided me another gateway update to install before trying to scan/update the APIM again. I will report back when I have some time to get into FDRS again.

Jesse got me rolling, after the gateway update he provided I'm now on to my second gateway and apim update

I brought my truck into dealer for the heated steering wheel turning off after 10 minutes (TSB 22-2232). They said it was a quick SCCM update that they did, however it still turns off after 10 minutes, and it barely puts out any heat after the update. My heat/AC controls now don’t work the way they used to. It used to out out hot air when set to 80 degrees regardless of the temperature outside, and now it just puts out luke warm air unless I set it to HI.

I can't speak to the other issues, but the heated steering wheel timeout can be changed with forscan. I'm not sure what your actual value is right now but according to the asbuilt data on motorcraftservice.com you are currently set to a 10 minute timeout. Rather than fight with the dealer I would recommend you buy a cable off of amazon and download forscan to customize it yourself. The dealer is likely to not be of much help.

These are not our exact axles, but they represent the style.
Splined on both ends.
No E-clip locating them inboard at the pumpkin.
Rather a threaded bolt on the outboard end, holding the axle relative to the hub.

I know the factory service manual calls for a press fit of the splines into the hub. But I can't explain why that doesn't appear necessary. The splines in both the hub and the axle appear to be precision fit. No slop. But considerably less tight than a press-fit.

I don't see any messages in the Ford app or on the Truck screen about software updates, but the Sync About screen does say 3.5.4.

Should I be seeing anything in the Ford App, email, or truck after an update is applied to the truck?

APIM OTA 6.3.0 was sent to your truck three times in December and it failed all three times. Seems to have run out of free space to download the files, which is a new issue that can be circumvented with FDRS. Since your OTA dashboard shows it failed 3 times, you may be able to get them to do it for you.

Modules pending updates are below. Right now, it is not showing you have an APIM update available. This is due to an issue on Ford's side and is happening to many vehicles right now.

Not sure why it is showing that date for all the modules. 3.5.4 only updates the TCU. I would not put too much weight into the dates you see there.

When you get an update, Fordpass should notify you, yes. Sometimes the notification is delayed, and sometimes you never get it at all.

Bought new in July 21 (had 6.7 miles on the odo). You remarked to me awhile ago about checking that I was set up to receive updates... I went in and thought I ensured I was set up. Will go back in and check again. To my knowledge have not done anything to prevent updates loading. Many thanks!

@rugedraw ...thanks...IPMA never cleared from Jan 22, I wonder why, and the PSCM is new but not worth doing just it. BCM I am not going to do because of the quad lights.


Edit : I ran the IPMA a few times to get it to clear. Should I have kept running it until it cleared?

Not sure. Mine went through right away without a hitch. Your strategy is at -ABS and mine is at -ACJ. FDRS is still showing it as available for you. Maybe a PMI? I would ask Jesse.

UPDATE: Talked to Jesse - he said if I am not having any problems - not to worry about it still being on FDRS. Maybe the next time I get a 2 day FDRS and it still shows, I will try it again.
