You can try to have the dealer do any updates for you, but they are not obligated to do so. That being said, your 23 should be fairly up-to-date, as none of the latest updates being pushed have any significant changes, and are also being sent out rather aggressively via OTA. I've received 3 in the last week.
Thanks, still trying to figure out what all this new stuff looks like, my old truck was a 2003 Super Duty and didn't really have much to deal with tech wise. My biggest concern was at least part of the truck seems to have been sitting for a year, the sticker on the door has a build date of 12/22 and the window sticker is dated 8/16/23 so wasn't sure what state it was in while it sat the factory for ~9 months waiting to be finished in terms of software version and if they update everything before shipping it out etc.
Understand the concern, but even build date of late 2022 is feature complete and past the buggy versions. 2023 updates added nothing new. Turn on auto updates when you get the truck and not much to worry about. If BC 1.3 does come along that might be excuse to throw down money on a Mongoose cable (or borrow one) to get current on updates fast. Otherwise I'd just let OTA do it's thing in your case.

No OTA history shown in PTS. You're on Sync 23159 which is not too far behind, you are missing a few OTA's. Was your truck updated manually at some point?

There is nothing normal or systematic about Ford's OTA process. Your truck is fine. You just have to wait for the OTA gods to deem you worthy of an update.

I had the stuck OTA fixed last year. Since then I got a few updates. The last was the one that updated the manual. The last significant updates was in February I believe.
