Please check my VIN in PTS and see if Ford is figuring out what's wrong with my truck. I have been without my truck for 44 days now which seems insane.

VIN: 1FTFW1E13MFB77676

I appreciate the help!

I was agreeing with the previous post (Paul) and the exact language he used.

They've been working on it, but are having a hard time programming the new HCM to the truck. It keeps failing the PMI and config program with FDRS. They have not touched the truck since 10/31. I am assuming they are waiting to hear from Ford.

I'm surprised it is taking so long for the Ford engineers to figure out what to do. Jesse said that it looked like their was no software assigned to the truck for the HCM which was causing the programming error. The service advisor said they contacted Ford on 10/27 so they must be equally confused about what's going on.

Really? As much time as you've spent on this forum, you're surprised Ford engineers can't figure something out and take forever to respond to dealers? lol

I hoped I had the luck of the draw and got a smart one picked for me. I was obviously being way to optimistic!

That sad part is Jesse can probably fix it faster than Ford but sounds like Ford needs to fix their computer system.

I would bet my house that there ARE people that work for Ford, or some subsidiary, that have perfect understanding of how to get software, the right software, loaded onto that module. Or any module, for that matter.

What's so frustrating is the lack of leadership at whatever level (management) it is that the decisions are made about how these things will be addressed, and by who with the appropriate skillset.

I'll never be convinced that there aren't very smart people employed by every automotive manufacturer. These things are the most technologically advanced mass production vehicles in history. That takes smart people.

There's no excuse for the obvious need for the necessary expertise to be so unavailable. The appropriate files are available. The ability to flash/sideload is straight forward for someone with the tools. Every dealership, by now, should have a laptop with a remote support client onboard that allows Ford to remotely resolve these kinds of issues. The dealership would be nothing more than the hands and feet for the Ford software tech to do his/her thing.

@rugedraw - thank you mate - I am amazed on what you can see on my truck . I reset the BMS manually (5xbrights, 3xbrakes in accessory mode) and took it for a 30min drive. Will the DTCs you saw for low battery voltage clear up by themselves if the reset worked? Frustrating part is I took it into the dealer a week ago about the issue and they said yep battery low and they said it just needed a charge. Nothing about DTCs
@rugedraw thanks for the suggestion on resetting the BMS. I travel a lot, 3-5 days at a time and until recently would get alarms about truck going into low energy state. After the reset (and 6.1 and 6.2 updates), I just came back from 10 days without driving the truck and got no alarms at all. I did check almost on a daily basis the location of the truck thru Fordpass to be sure it was where I left it so was triggering it the same way. Not sure what changed but happy about it.

It'll take some time before the updates done to your truck today will reflect on Ford's servers. The truck will eventually Sync up with the mothership.
Good morning! I’m still waiting on the sync up with the Ford mothership. Both my Sync and Navigation are displaying on the “Ford Sync and Navigation Updates” that I am still due for updates. Should I shake that tree again or poke the bear?

Thanks again so much,

Joe

There isn't much you can do. There is no set time frame for when a truck syncs up with the servers. It could be days or it could be weeks.
