I used Ford website chat to transfer truck ownership to me when I bought it used. It was very simple process. Took just couple minutes.

I only needed to do that for service records... Connecting Ford Pass was done within the truck itself. After I did a full system reset. Find the option in truck menus to connect Ford Pass.
I’ve done the first part of this as well. Chatted with Ford and vehicle was transferred to me and I can now see the service records.

I don’t see any options regarding FordPass in the vehicle itself though. Just connectivity as shown in the video above.

Yes, it’s a ‘21 I just picked up last weekend. I’ve contacted Ford and been through all the resets and such., which is what led me to google and ultimately here :). I’ll wait for the mongoose cable and see if the software updates resolves this problem as well…. Thank you
I’m not sure it’s going to help. But it couldn’t hurt. I had tons of problems with the TCU on my ‘21 when I first bought it. But whenever I lost connectivity, the connected services icon would wink out. It looks to me like it is connected—just not to you. If you had a truly clean slate, you should see a connected services icon with two larger arrows and no location delta.

Some have success leaving battery unplugged couple hours to reboot everything.
I don't know how that works on the hybrids though.

Won’t work on a PB because of the aux battery. All you’ll end up doing is draining and damaging the aux. Don’t do it.

If you want to reset the TCU on a PB, assuming the FORScan reset didn’t work (which it should), the best way to do it is to peel back the concealer behind the rear seats, unplug the power connector on the TCU bolted to the rear wall and leave it unplugged overnight.

Did you buy this vehicle used? I’m wondering if the TCU is still registered to someone else’s FordPass account, which is why you can’t register it to yours. You might want to call Ford customer service about this. The icon tells me that the TCU is otherwise working just fine.
I thought of that, but PTS specifically says vehicle must be registered to Fordpass to pull connected vehicle data.

How long has it been since you had Ford transfer the vehicle to you? I’m not sure if the transfer of connected services privileges is instantaneous or if it takes a few days for the servers to update. Maybe give it a few days and try again from scratch—delete the truck from your account, reset sync, try again.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. My concern is that it might still be registered to a FordPass account, just not his.

If it was registered to someone else's Fordpass account, I would be able to see the connected vehicle data associated with his truck in PTS. However, PTS specifically says his truck is not connected to any Fordpass account. I can't see his mileage, tire pressure, fuel level, DTC codes......nothing.

I see what you’re saying now. I guess what’s still puzzling me then is why the connected services icon is still showing a connection to something instead of the fresh opposing arrows icon which would indicate that the the TCU was working but not registered to any account.

@guerrerouc I just looked up your VIN in FDRS and it only shows an APIM update. I must have confused your truck with another one when I was speaking with @JEB about your truck. You are only showing an APIM update, which means you should have everything you need updates-wise for BC. It is possible that the APIM update you are showing can trigger the GWM to pop up once it is done. The only way to know would be for that update to be applied by OTA or by FDRS.

I see they replaced the APIM on 10/18 and performed the PMI, so I am inclined to say they did it correctly. However, it does seem like your truck has synced up with Ford since then and all your Sync data is blank on Ford's servers, so I am limited as to what I can see in your case. Post of a pic of your "about sync" screen. For some reason, your truck does not show the 21G01 campaign for bluecruise programming tied to its VIN.
I borrowed a mongoose cable and I’ve been updating all pending modules but APIM is throwing an error Could you please take a look how?

And thanks for all your help.

Not an error.

Now you must push tailgate release button two times inside cab or at tailgate.

Missed this earlier but I will give it a try in a few days. I bought the vehicle last Saturday and contact the FordPass Guide on Tuesday to switch it over.

Also, Jesse was able to provide me an offline APIM update so we're slowly making progress :).

My apologies this is the right screenshot with the APIM error during the update

I'm not an expert, but I would try doing PMI as it is telling you to do.
I really don't know what that does, but I don't think it is harmful.
My guess is it might help get Ford updated with what software version you have installed? I know it's supposed to be done for any new modules to get asbuilt data downloaded etc.
