My recall was done this morning. No drama. An hour and a half from driving into the service dept to driving out to the dealership.

I was there long enough to check out some inventory. This caught my eye. A retail order that my sales person said is maybe falling apart. I could be interested.

I paid little attention to this recall thread as Fordpass never indicated I needed it. However got a letter in the mail that I am part of it.....uh what? does Fordpass not tell you about recalls!? All this tech and I have to get mail to know of a recall?

Same experience and ? agree! I guess they were too busy developing how to make a shifter disappear with a press of a button ??? LOL

mine goes in next week, but luckily I have a courtesy rental reserved when I drop it off… we’ll see how that plays out!

My first post so be gentle...

Hello everybody, I'm here in Canada and from what I've been told the rivets required are on backorder. Has anyone else seen delays with the rivets? I know Ford notified dealers prior to the recall being pushed through giving suppliers time to ramp up production.
Mine are in, appointment in a couple weeks.

All depends when your dealer ordered them as they have to order per vin so dealers don’t over order and horde all the parts.
If they ordered yours later then they may be out by now and have a bit longer to wait.
Ask me how I know lol ….past job

My dealer said rivets are on back order. Hopefully within 30 days and I should just keep checking my truck until then. And they quoted me $140 to update my PCM even though there is a TSB that applies to my truck to have them update it. What a joke! Told me I have to call Ford corporate to get them to authorize a PCM update under warranty. Do better Ford.

So, I just checked mine and in fact the isolator was sagging and just about touching my drive shaft. This is an easy temp fix before getting the dealer to fix it, which of course they don't have all the parts that they need. The isolators are held in by standard upholstery push in fastener for the most part, but where mine was sagging, it looked like there was actual bolts that were missing. There are in fact threaded holes and indents in the isolator where it looks like something was holding it up. In any case, I checked all of the plastic fasteners, and all were loose, so a good push and resecured them. One of the fasteners by the fuel tank (drivers side) was not even in the hole.
- For the 2 holes that were missing whatever hardware was originally there, I cut 2 stainless bolts (F593C THD) down to about 3/4 inch and used a stainless washer (1-1/2 inch) to resecure the isolator.

Had my recall done yesterday during an oil change. Dealer had the parts available.

Thank you for the pictures flatag. I recently received my recall notice. Based on the picture I've attached, it appears two fasteners came off. I gave the "tin foil" a tug in a few places and it appears it's secure for now. I also called the local dealership and made an appointment to go in on 2/25. According to the dealership, the fix is a three part process: 1. inspect and place rivits where necessary; 2. perform a test (if your truck fails the test, go to step three); 3. repair that requires additional parts and may require you to make another appointment depending on if the parts are in stock and the dealership has the time to do the repair the same day.

Yes you just have to pray you have no or no significant driveshaft damage. If you do, like me, they ground your truck and let you know the driveshaft is backordered and likely not in till 3/31. I’m glad to see many folks are able to get the remediation without the driveshaft being hosed.

I took mine in this week for the recall. They sent pictures to Ford who said the driveshaft will need replaced, but they left me take the truck again until the part comes in.
Just curious how many miles you have on your truck. Wondering how many miles roughly in order for the sagging insulation to cause damage. Thank you.

Wow, I had not seen this post but I received the recall in the mail yesterday, nothing on the Ford App about a recall. I looked under my truck and scoring has occurred. Since the insulation is already damaged I cut it off so it will not continue to score.

How many miles on yours?

Technology is great, but it too fails sometimes. I never got notified via the FordPass app, but it also took 2 months for the windshield recall to get updated as complete in FordPass. There is clearly some handshaking that goes on between the NHTSA and manufacturers as if I search by VIN on the NHTSA, I now have 0 recalls. I'd suggest signing up for alerts from NHTSA and that way you don't have to wait on the handshaking.

Agreed, if Ford would have put this in the App or sent a letter in October a lot of damage could have been prevented.
