OK, with 4WD, if worst comes to worst... you can take out the drive shaft, make sure there is a seal of some kind on the aft transfer case so it doesn't lose oil from the absence of its rear face output shaft, and drive the truck as if in 4 WD. I did that in an old Suburban when a shop did some poor work for me. Didn't go a ton of miles that way... but it'll keep you from being stranded. And keep an eye on transfer case oil level by checking it every so often.Yes - 4WD.
