Rear pinion seal leak?

I have a 2022 with 18k miles on it and I've already got a leak at the rear pinion seal area on the diff. Noticed a spot in the garage and so I crawled under it to find the diff covered in oil. It couldn't have been leaking for more than a day or two so I don't think its lost much oil. So I'm calling the dealer today to get it in. Is this a common issue on these trucks? Usually I didn't think pinion seals go out this quick without something else wrong that would cause it to prematurely leak.

Yes, no problems so far.

Had the same issue with mine as well around 22k miles. Haven’t had an issue since they replaced it.

This happened to me with my previous 2017 at around 10k miles. It was repaired under warranty and never recurred while I owned it.

Yeah my rental f150 with only 4k miles had a bad pinion seal too. Not sure why this isn't revised. Very common problem.

So this is probably going to be a recurring issue that goes out every 25-50k miles? That’s really disappointing

Doubt it will recur that often but it is common across many brands.

My old truck was very slowly wicking a little oil out the pinon seal after I was out of extended warranty. Until it leaked enough to drip on ground I was not worried about it. Checked fluid level couple times a year for peace of mind and it never went down. Just helped keep the patented Ford differential rust looking a little better.

I wouldn’t say that. Some go a long ways some don’t. Seems to be random.

I wouldn't consider it common when you do the math on how many F150s Ford builds each day.

I have a 24 tremor and just took it for its first oil change and was told my pinion seal is sweating. 6800 km
