Rear camera button stopped working

My Vin is: 1FTEW1EP7MKD01598, the local dealer is Frank Fletcher Ford. Located at 3015 Turkey Creek Rd, Joplin, MO 64801 They did say they may have to charge me if its just a software update.

I had to pay the dealer to fix the backup camera. What a load of shit. This is my first Ford and might be my last Ford. Fuck them

The camera works when in reverse. Just the button no longer operates.

The camera button stopped working in my truck after an upgrade from the factory.

Even if I don’t use a feature often, if it came with the truck and I paid for it, it should work.

I asked the dealer to look into the problem while they had the truck for another issue but the tech couldn’t duplicate the issue based on my description.

I tried the cameras at speed fix with forscan but could only see the hitch while driving. The other options that appeared with this fix did not function.

I came across TSB 23-2416 on this forum in late July 2024.

I took a printed copy of TSB 23-2416 to Cochran Ford in Natrona, PA and spoke with the service manager.

I was about 100 miles short of the 36,000 mile warranty end and advised the service manager that when I brought the truck in for the TSB that it would be beyond the 36,000 mile cutoff.

No problem said the service manager we’ll take care of it.

The service manager and I both thought the fix could be made while I waited but they offered me a ride home in case the fix took longer.

While attempting the repair, they found that they could not make the update required.

They told me that they would need to to additional work as described in ipma MC-10236330-0001.

They gave me a loaner 2024 Ranger and said not to worry about mileage while they acquired the parts.

Parts took three weeks.

Camera button now works but now when I engage cruise control, lane keeping comes on with it.

I'm not sure but, a TSB is not to have a mileage or date stop time.

Mine's doing the same thing you're describing. Been almost a year now with no camera button. Dealer wanted $180 to fix it. Keep waiting for an update to fix it, but none have come.

Just Picked up my truck for the backup camera button inop. It was a software update that needed to be performed. It cost $547.92 Labor only. Might just think whether it's necessary. Had TSB in 23-2416. Makes no difference. The dealer had it for 2 days.
