Hello All,
I recently purchased 2021 STX. It was Ford certified so I have a 12/12000 warranty. When I first got it the button worked but has since quit.
I did up grade the battery to an H8 last week as the auto stop/start also quit working.
From what I am reading I may need the 23-2416 TSB completed.
What is not clear, Will this be covered or is it just up to the dealer if I am charged or not? This does not appear to be something fixed using only Forscan correct? Any chance a future update will correct it?
Thanks
Ken

WOW 132 people looked at this and no one had and answer. I took the truck back to Kisselback Ford in St. Cloud FL. I had read their service department was bad but took my chances being that is where I bought it. "IF" it was covered under extended warranty it would be $100. If not it was a $199 to look at it. I'll live without the button. Shame Ford motor company can screw up an update but owner has to pay to fix it.

Did you perform a search within the forums or Da Googless?

Did you check any of the wiring? Possibly of rodent damage there, Bud.

My truck had the camera button stop working over a year ago after an update. Dealer wanted $180 to fix it since my bumper to bumper was done. I rented a Mongoose cable and fixed it myself with FDRS updates. I installed a bunch of updates for the same money the dealer was going to charge for one.

The button on the dash goes straight to the IPMA, there is no canbus involved here. You can pull the plug from the IPMA and test the connectivity to the button with a multimeter. If the button is working through to the IPMA, then it's just a software bug in the IPMA which should be fixed with updates using FDRS.

Jeffrt,
That's good to hear, I had gotten the idea it could be fixed like that. If I under stand it takes that special connection and $50 two day "rental fee" for the right to FDRS correct?

Ajzride,
OK I will double check using what you posted.

If Ford can't check the in install after to verify it was correct that need to add a way to reinstall or roll back. Windows been doing that for years.

Thanks for the help!!

I rented a Mongoose cable, and the 2 day license was $50. All in with shipping the cable back and forth it was about what the dealer wanted, but I got everything updated, vs one update.
