With all due respect, if you are buying new, I don't think it's going to happen. The high volume dealers are doing 10-11K off on XLTs. But you are looking at a $65K truck. Unless you have a $4K PCO, you aren't going to get there.

Good news is there are plenty of used ones out there if you want to go that route. Find a Gold Certified 22 or 23, add a Ford ESP from Granger, and drive on.

Depends on cash or finance. 2.9% for 72mo right now is hard to beat. Doesn't make sense to get a cheaper vehicle used only to still pay more for financing. Appears $10k cheaper, in reality it's only $5k cheaper with warranty added in. Furthermore don't buy a used PB out of factory warranty and without a thorough examination of its service history.

I get the math but the OP sounded like he was hard by $50K period.

I did the same exercise....tbh I wasn't going to buy another F150 after the way I was treated by Ford on my 2018 5.0 with the oil consumption issue. It was only after I was able to get $15K off and 1.9 financing that I went back with another one. I came very close to pulling the trigger on a Chevy that was substantially cheaper but I would have paid about $9K more in interest over the life of the loan. That's why I'm driving another F150 now.

Strategy? Buy used so you can get a lot of the options back. I thought lack of a heated steering wheel pissed me off...until I heard about this $500 keypad???? I told the wife this is definitely the last new vehicle I will be purchasing from Ford. Anyone that's been paying attention for about the last five or six years knows that you're paying more for less. It's nuts.

In terms of existing inventory on a lot you are at the mercy of the purchasing people. Fewer than 5% of the trucks when I was looking in 2022 had the large gas tank and I only found two trucks with the large tank and the tow package and only one of them had the electronic rear locking differential. Only a couple of trucks had the super cab and so I bought the very long wheelbase super crew that is a pain to maneuver.

Better to place an order during the last few days of the sales quarter and going straight to either the finance manager or the sales manager and not the commissioned sale people at the dealers. I also have found it helpful to arrive two hours before closing time as that puts pressure on them to make the deal and not hope that I will come back later in the week and after the end of the sales period that counts toward factory rebates and discounts for the dealers.

Do a few sets of heavyweights and bench-press, then find a sleeveless shirt and a backward hat and walk into the dealership with a huge attitude.

I won't show up to the dealer until I have terms sheet in hand -- huge waste of time otherwise.

I once bought an Infiniti Q50S Red Sport, while wearing a dinosaur t-shirt, cargo pants and flip flops. I also Uber'd to the dealership.

The salesguy didn't take me seriously until he pulled my credit and saw my bank info - they suddenly paid a LOT of attention to me; I still get a spam calls from the dealership every few months, 6 years later..

I deliberately wear a tshirt that mentions being a lawyer . . . the "Trust Me, I'm a Lawyer" is long disintegrated, but this is the "Let's not mistake your internet search for the actual law degree I hold".

Just stoking the greed . . .

You want the tow package for your PB. Consider the tow technology pkg as an alternative. The PB already has the max GVWR and largest radiator available. It’s frame is heavy duty as well. The tow package provides larger rear brakes, an upgraded bumper, and a semi-floating rear axle that shears bolts pretty regularly. Payload is the limiting factor and not the brakes or the stout 9.75” 3.73 rear end.

I don't see a tow technology package on either the Ford site or the order sheets. Am I missing it somewhere?

Perhaps it doesn’t exist anymore. My ‘22 302A PB 4x4 has it.
Google thinks it exists for ‘24 lol

I'm just about always in clothes I don't mind if I get dirty. Bought one vehicle with a check and they wanted to wait 24hrs before I took it. Asked if there was a limit and he said anything over $20k and from out of town they wait for next business day. Wrote the check for 19,999 and wired the rest right then. Said wires take a day and I told him to have them check the account. I left with the vehicle 10 minutes later.

The best is having a dealer deliver it to you be it the state border or the house. Takes maybe 6 minutes. Met one at a chickfila once and payment / paperwork was done before someone arriving at the same time made it through the drive thru. Those types of interactions will spoil ya. I'll never sit at a dealer again. If I can't get a terms sheet worth a damn before I arrive, it's a waste of my time. I can play games on my couch, no need to sit at a dealer and do it in person.

I buy my vehicles with hundreds. My associate carries it in a briefcase. I wear my smoking jacket typically.
