Anyone ever fix the error on the display "Pro Power Onboard Service Required" "Please contact an authorized dealer for service."

Error pops and pro power is unable to turn on. If I turn on and off the truck a few times, sometimes it will go away and then I can turn on pro power with no issues. Other times, the error display almost every time I turn on the truck.

Brought it to the dealer, they said they traced it back to the dash plug, so they swapped the dash plug, but the error still displays.

Anyone have any luck with this?

Only issues we've seen w/ the PB's HV PPoB is with the harness where it connects to the rear bed plug, accessible from underneath. Some people have had issues with it faulting due to water.

Since it's intermittent, have you noticed the weather being related at all?

Rain, wet roads, vs dry?

It happens regardless of the weather. However I don’t get the error when it’s dryer as much, but still get it.

I've had that warning. I clear it and a few minutes later it doesn't come up when I select PPOB.

Looking up this specific error there seem to be a couple main culprits. The harness connection to the panel in the bed is loose/not connected correctly and allowing water in. This is especially true if a bed liner has been applied. Re-seating the connections does seem to resolve it if it's that.

The other being a loose or unplugged connection up in the dash where the module is. This requires pulling the dash out or at least a good portion.

Check the connections under the bed since you said it happens less frequently when it's dry. This would indicate a loose connection in the ProPower system between the inverter and outlet panel. Especially true if you had a bed liner applied and they didn't reconnect the cables properly. If you're unable to determine it then definitely contact the dealer and find out if they have a tech who is fully trained with the PB ProPower system before taking it in.

Thanks for the info here. I've unplugged all 3 connections there under the bed box however no luck. I don't have a bed liner installed. Are there any connections directly behind the bed outlet box (meaning directly behind the outlets in the bed panel) or these 3 the only ones?

When the error displays your able to turn on PPOB? Whenever I clear the error message, I am unable to turn on PPOB. I have to keep turning on and off the truck until I get lucky and the error doesn't display.

I think there are posts about the bed panel being replaced and issue solved. But I don't know of any way to confirm that's the solution beforehand. More a process of elimination approach.

Hi,

I had this happen on my 2024 F-150 Lightning Flash. I simply disconnected the negative 12v battery lead and let the system reset (Turn it off, then back on). I was then able to get the Pro Power Onboard to work properly.

I hope this helps,

Older thread, but this is happening on my F150 Powerboost.

I've tried two things without any luck:

- Unplugging the orange cables on the drivers side rear under the bed
- Unhooking the negative battery terminal for a reset. In fact, I replaced my starting and accessory battery hoping that would take care of it, but no luck.

I'll have to get it into the dealer. This isn't bed liner related - I installed my own when I got the truck - I've never had a PPOB issue until I started to get issues with the two batteries.

unplugging the main battery does not reset. you need to unplug both the main battery and the Aux battery at the same time.
