I've recently acquired a 2022 F150 XLT 3.5L EcoBoost with 302a package. I've been wiring an ambient lighting upgrade and decided to plug in a small fan - I got nothing. Realized there was no LED light on on the outlet. Owners manual showed how to turn on Pro Power. And I realized I don't have any way to turn it on. I definitely do not have a hard button. But it should be in features, right? Nothing. Do I need to turn on this feature with Forscan?

Pictures show:
No hard button
Not in Features
Front outlets
Rear outlets
Bed outlet (with no reset button)

I know there are some really smart people on this forum. Any thoughts or suggestions? It's in the truck, I'd like to use it.

I don’t think you have pro power. The outlets you have are the standard outlets. I would check fuses.

You have a 400 watt inverter that is only on when the truck is running. If it is not on..check the fuse.

Okay, thanks for mentioning that the truck needs to be running and the driver's door closed.

Checked Fuses:

Battery Junction Box (BCMC):
F36 – Positive 12.48 Volts

Body Control Module (BCM):
F35 – Good. Tested 0 ohms with meter

Inside cab test with engine running (doors closed):

Amber LED flashed once after start up.

Decided to test with desk lamp.
Plugged in after starting - Nothing.
Plugged in before starting - The lamp flashed on and then off.

Should I check for error codes?

General info on Ford's 400W Inverters.

A DTC sets in the BCM when the general electrical fault is detected by the direct current/alternating current (DC/AC) inverter.

Possible Causes
• Fuse(s)
• Direct current/alternating current (DC/AC) inverter
• AC Outlet
• Wiring, terminals or connectors

The 400W Inverter won't work if one of the outlets isn't sending feedback to the BCM via the outlet's LED.
If one outlet has a problem, the inverter turns off all the outlets.

Each AC outlet is equipped with an amber LED that indicates the system status.
The LED is illuminated continuously when the inverter is ON and the system is operating normally.

If the LED has a series of three flashes, the power point is overloaded.

The LED flashes constantly if the ignition is on and a fault is detected.

If the LED is off when ignition (engine running) there could be some system faults.

If at least one of the outlet LEDs is not electrically detected, the inverter will not provide AC output and will command the other Outlets LEDs to be off (in case the vehicle has more than one AC outlet).

Valuable information. I truly appreciate the help.
The only DTC I had was U0285. Can’t say this directly related to the inverter. I charged the battery and did a manual reset of the battery charging system.

As far as troubleshooting the inverter - it seems to work, albeit briefly. Wish there was a way to test the truck bed outlet, or bypass it. Not sure of what else to try short of gambling for replacing the bed outlet. The outlets are there in the truck. I would like for them to work even though they’re on the low end of supplying 110v.

I took the $72.34 (Cost plus shipping) gamble and ordered the MU5Z-19A464-M, and replaced the bed outlet.

Works!

Thanks to all of you that responded. Especially Tired Lizard with technical information and links.

Lesson I learned buying a used truck with inverter - make the salesperson plug something into it before buying.
