Yes, it worked on my 21 PB. OBDLink app is not CarPlay compatible which is a shame. So it makes no difference.
Got it. Also, I didn’t notice page 2 of the thread where the usage with a ‘21 was discussed.

as far as CarPlay, I understand it will not display on the Sync screen. But I assume my iPhone 14 Pro can show the gauge display while also using CarPlay to the truck…? Light need some reformatting due to the smaller screen than your Pro Max… I think that is what was stated in the thread, but hard to follow while reading on my phone. I will read again once I am back to my computer.

EDIT To Expand:
OK, I see the discussion thread WRT Carplay better. My question about the WiFi projection is how wireless CarPlay works, not wired. I am betting that this will not work with wireless CarPlay due to this change in how the WiFi operates with WiFi projection. If anyone knows, please confirm or clarify if I am thinking about this wrong.

Thanks again!

Is anyone running this on an iPhone Pro model versus the Pro Max with the larger screen that Turbopiolet is using? Just wondering how everything looks on the smaller format and if things are overly squashed/crowded... Thanks!

You can change the scale of every gauge. So theoretically you can populate the device you are using with the same layout.

OBDLink App is using BlueTooth to talk to the OBD MX+ reader, WiFi is not in the mix. I only do wired CarPlay to keep the WiFi radio available for other purposes with CarPlay.

And yes the iPhone will simultaneously support ODBLink app via BlueTooth and CarPlay compatible apps via wired USB CarPlay. Running down the road I have OBDLink app displayed on the iPhone screen while running Google Maps in the background on the iPhone driving the CarPlay Sync 4 display. The iPhone in this configuration is getting data via the cellular modem or in my use case via WiFi from Starlink.

No doubt some reformatting will be needed to fit all the screen sizes. That is pretty easy to do. My hope is that other folks will post .stg files reformatting what I have done to fit other devices.

It looks just fine on my "little" iPhone 14 (not pro or pro max).

I just removed the version number at the top of the screen...

Thanks for the confirmation. I appreciate it! Hopefully the OBD dongle will work with wireless CarPlay.
Unfortunately, the OBDLink app is not CarPlay compatible. So, it connects to the MX+ adapter via BlueTooth, but the dashboard is displayed on your phone. I have not found that this affects carplay though. I can have my phone display the OBDLink Dashboard and CarPlay handles navigation and music just fine.

I *really* wish that they'd make the app work with Carplay so we could display the dashboard on the big 12" screen! (Or have the side card display the dashboard).

Ya, I meant compatible with Wireless CarPlay. I didn’t realize the connection to the dongle was BT, therefore no issue with the WiFi projection used for wireless CarPlay. I ordered the OBD unit and will find out.

thanks!!

@turbopilot @Snakebitten What do you make of this?
Last night 9/3 6:08 PM 14VDC SOC 96% and 280VDC SOC 69%.
In morning 9/4 9:29 AM got FordPass Remote Features Disabled To Preserve Battery Message.
Started Truck 9/4 9:35 AM 14VDC SOC 93% and 280VDC 51%.
Screen shots attached, please refraim from comment on the "Spiderman Theme" ;)
1) Is that much loss in each SOC over that short period to be expected?
2) Do these batteries dissipate SOC linearly?
3) Any thoughts to win at these rates of phantom discharge I get the cannot start message?
I am trying to learn this trucks training :)
BTW, ended off-roading today at 100% on the low voltage batteries.
And thanks for the template gents.

Odd that your HV SOC was 69% when you parked the truck, unless you ended your drive with a nice downhill regen that Ford does allow to take SOC above 63%. (Ford HV charging via ICE normally is capped far below 69%)

Regardless though, I have had on a few occasions witnessed a considerable drop in HV SOC that I couldn't explain. A small change makes perfect sense if the HV battery temperature was to swing dramatically overnight, but not 18%.

The only explanation I could imagine is for the DC/DC converter being in play for some reason? And if that's true, it's nothing more than the HV battery being consumed to support a 12V system draw.

Still, even with all that being said, the truck has no obvious reason to disable features (FordPass alert) to protect a 12V battery at such a high SOC.

I'd chalk it up to one of those mysterious, and hopefully rare/random software anomalies. If not, you are surely going to experience additional events that might eventually reveal some hint to what's not shutting down properly.

Thanks @Snakebitten , I'll keep watchin' 'em. Yes, I have a pretty good down hill at the end of my commute .
If you thought 63% is high, here's a 71% capture I meant to forward you for thought. I got it out on the trail today. Maybe one of these off-road modes enabled the high SOC?
BTW, I'm a hardware engineer who believes the Agile methodology that permeates software development is of the devil. :)

I typically see around 3% to 4% decline in 14 v SOC overnight. Never noticed big changes in the SOC on the 280 v side. At times I have seen bigger drops on the 14 v side. I wonder if the truck gets lonely at night and phones the mothership eating up some SOC.

This was yesterday on a completely undisturbed truck. 3 hours after disconnecting the trickle charger, there was a momentary downspike in static voltage. (circled)

I received my monthly "health report" via email afterwards. Was that a phone home event requiring the necessary modules to wake? (TCU/GWM/?)

My battery is over 500 days old and is unable to hold charge above ~12.8 if I disconnect it from a charger. (pictured above at about 10am)
If I do not disturb the truck, it will lose 0.01V about every 8 hours. So ~0.03v per day on a very quiet day. More if I disturb it by opening doors or approaching with the fob and triggering the footboards and lighting.

Lol…I’m using a 13 Mini and it works just fine. Big phones are not for me
