@Skier167 I noticed that you have you're install time set to 3:00 a.m. And I'm certainly not going to question the King of OTA. :) But after monitoring my SOC for a while, I found that on cold winter nights the SOC can drop 3 to 5 points overnight, when the truck is sitting out in the cold weather, causing OTA's to fail due to low SOC. Since I'm a 9 to 5 guy, I set mine to 7:00 p.m. so the battery is still warm from the drive home and is at the highest SOC level it will be until I drive it next. You can always postpone if you need to run out. Just a thought.

“King of OTA” ??. I’m a 9 to 5 guy as well but work from home and my truck’s in a heated garage. Since I work from home is another reason I try to charge my battery reguarly. I installed a garage heater a few years ago and it’s one of those things I wish I did a long time ago. Interesting it drops the 3 to 5 points overnight in the cold. I initially had it like 7-8pm at night but this time of year I’m out night fishing on Lake Erie and won’t get home till late so I switched the time to 3am cause i know I’ll always be sleeping then lol.

what’s funny about the OTA’s is I used to always be roughly 2-3 months behind everyone else. For a while was running all my updates though FDRS cause I was tired of waiting. Earlier this year it changed and the only uneducated guess I have is I’m in the EAP and they started sending me surveys on stuff and I filled them out in detail every time. Prob had nothing at all to do with the change but that’s what I’m going with lol.

I don't know how it could improve. Works great for me.
You see, I am spoiled. My Volvo had a thumbwheel in the wiper stalk that you could use to adjust the sensitivity of the rain sensor. It was the same thumbwheel that adjusted the interval when intermittent was selected , but when the rain sensor was selected, it adjusted it as well.

My 2012 Focus had better rain sensing wiper operation and auto climate. I also don't think it ever randomly swiped the wipers when starting it up.

This is my first wiper experience apparently I don't know what I'm missing. ?

I did turn the thing off this morning it was insisting on running wipers in a light mist and I got tired of the wiper rubber squeak sound.

Is that the best setting to get updates
everyday at 3 am?

The best time to set your scheduled updates for would be, shortly after you've parked the truck for the day. This will be the moment when your truck is at its highest SOC and gives you the best chance of the OTA successfully installing, without failure due to low SOC. In my case I set to 9:00 pm, Using 12:00 midnight is not recommended. You should use 12:01 or 11:59 if midnight is your wish.

When things work the way they used to i would get update icon at top of screen. Then I'd just hit update now under system updates getting home from work. I haven't seen that for a while.
I agree set time shortly after you typically get home and don't need truck for a couple hours.

My 2023 Limited seems to be way behind on updates. When I request updates it says there are no software updates available and yet I am really behind on OTA updates as shown by the version number. Still on 23045. Would really like to get the updated BlueCruise with lane change and still getting a little too close to trucks on the passenger side while on BC. Any ideas what I can do to force this thing to update???

The update that allows you to change lanes with BC has not been made available to our trucks yet. There is no way to force an OTA being sent to your truck. The only way to "force" updates is to install them yourself which requires a semi-expensive tool and paid access to Ford's dealer software.

Thank you for the feedback. I tried the sequence with the radio I saw on this forum recently to trigger OTAs but nothing happened. Appreciate the feedback. Thank you.

None of that stuff works. Anyone that gets an OTA after any of those things got it by coincidence and would have gotten the OTA regardless of what they did.
