Anyone else curious what the instrument cluster has to do with the tailgate and trailers?

Interesting thing mentioned in the FDRS thread over a year ago. Using the testing mode in IPMA the instrument cluster was not showing connected. They were complaining about having to canbus the install.
Mine was showing same thing today.
After installing IPC update via FDRS now it shows connected on same test screen.
Software fix or just random coincidence? ?‍♂

Now after manual update with FDRS this shows as completed...

I really didn't care about the 4.3.2 I wanted the DSP annoying speaker noise fix. Did a 6 hour IPC CANBUS update just because I already paid for license.

Oh great. So this is another 6 hour ordeal like the 2.7.x updates. Awesome sauce.

Nothing. They are IPC updates to prep the truck for future updates. You will not see anything different with any of these updates.

4.3.5Jun-23Minor updates here and there. Some minor fine-tuning so your vehicle can easily install the more detailed updates coming down the road.IPC
4.3.3Jun-23We’ve recently completed an improvement to the trailer and tailgate settings for your Ford F-150® truck.IPC
4.3.2May-23A minor change so your vehicle can easily install the more intricate updates coming in the future.IPC
So would you say currently it's not worth $50.00 license with FDRS just to get these 3 updates at this point? I should wait until something more beneficial comes out to use the Mongoose and FDRS license? Hopefully BC 1.2 at some point.

Wait unless you have a reason to update.
4.3.x adds nothing.

I've been getting funky speaker issues so I wanted the DSP update. Some have been getting that OTA.

Given ford's new update schedule which will likely see nearly weekly updates, I'd just hold off until something more substantial comes along. I certainly wouldn't be chasing these weekly drops paying ford $50, that's for damn sure.

Check test menu and go under connectivity towards bottom. Does it show your instrument cluster connected?
Just curious if mine is random to now say connected or if they actually changed something.

I have the intermittent speaker noise when using Android Auto but it really doesn't bother me. Also getting a black screen with the split screen with Waze/ Google maps and YouTube Music.

I don't have an active FDRS license. Or are you checking with FORscan?

The built in test menu in truck. Hold both >> on steering wheel and below screen for a few seconds. Cancel annoying speaker test. Hit "connectivity" towards bottom of the menu of test options. My instrument cluster was not showing connected before update and now it does. Either totally coincidental or update did something. I just thought it interesting.

Hmmm. I'll check later when I get to my truck. The hypothesis to why 4.3.2 keeps failing for my truck is a bad ethernet connection at the IPC which is why it would have to be CAN'd in. I don't see how an OTA will "fix" that. Interesting indeed.

FYI...I just check my truck and it said the IPC said connected in that test menu. The OTA has failed 5 time. I have also tried updating by USB and that doesn't work either.

That's what I thought. No idea why mine was saying it wasn't connected. Oh well.
Given that they rarely update IPC I should be good until they cut off updates in a year or two.

Last night, my girl and I swapped parking spots so I am not blocking her in the morning since she leaves for work before I do. Soon as I started my truck, I noticed lag on my Sync screen. When I put it in reverse to park, the screen went all black for 10-15 seconds before the cameras came on, and as I was parking, I noticed the parking sensors sounded very different from what I was used to.

Soon as I was done parking, I check my update details and my truck says it is on 4.3.2. What's interesting is that PTS does not show my truck getting any updates last night, but I definitely got it.

Glad to see that there is nothing wrong with my IPC. I still don't know why it failed 4 times before it went through, but I'll take it.

Hmm maybe they changed something?
It failed for me probably half dozen times before I give up and used FDRS.

I need to plug my truck into forscan and check if the software actually changed. I've just been lazy when I get home.
