No problem!
Got the DSM ordered and it just shipped out yesterday. If you don't mind sharing, what was the high level process you followed for programming the DSM with FORScan? Did you just download the as-built data from the old module, install new module and then load the saved as-built data it into the new module? Appreciate any guidance you may have.

They lowered the price of the DSM. Used to be 200 plus. They must have changed suppliers.. they are about 90$ now

Nice, I got mine for around $90 bucks as well. $90 is bad enough to just toss away b/c of a nasty update, $200 would have made me blow chunks.

Yeah when I saw it was 90$ recently I thought it was a mistake so I called my dealer and they said yeah.. it is right. I have bought many of these over the years.

Not to hijack the thread, but when using FORScan (with extended lic) to replace the DSM, it is as simple as downloading the as-built from the old module then loading the saved as-built to the new (non updated) module? Wanted to make sure I had the general idea. Would be awesome if I can avoid paying for another FRDS license this year. :)

forscan can download asbuilt data for your module w/ the 'load factory asbuilt' option.

That's cool, I'm way behind on what the latest FORScan can do. I thought you had to have a backup already on hand for as-built.

If you haven't made changes to the DSM since your last OTA, you should be able to download it just fine. Only recent changes aren't populated back. For instance here's my ford asbuilt data showing for my DSM, which doesn't come with a XLT (just the first few lines)

Vs a random 2022 XLT jumps from 741 to 751

Quick update. Got the new DSM in today, pulled out the old one and fired up FORScan. Loaded the as-built data from the online repo, wrote the config and then performed a self test on the DSM (with doors closed). Bam! No more prolonged running of the RH running board. Glad I got this done soon rather than later, I swear they were trying to tear themselves apart. Hope this helps someone out.

Had you done the latest DSM update in the last 3mo or so w/ FDRS before the issue popped up?

I don't remember doing a DSM update but maybe I did. I certainly didn't between Wednesday working and Thursday not, unless truck did (auto update was ON).

Yeah, I updated the DSM probably a couple of weeks ago with other modules and then the issue arose. It was in direct relation to the update. Running boards were fine before.

Hey Morrisosu, Is the DSM p/n MU5Z14C708G and do you happen to know the version of DSM software that messed things up?

I wish I had recorded the new DSM software version info, but I didn't. Now if there's a way to see it in FDRS w/o another drop of cash on the license, let me know and I'll hook the rig back up and look.

My OG DSM that got cooked is: MU5T14C708AJ and it was replaced with MU5Z14C708G part # (after getting confirmation it would fit from the online dealer).
