Ive already decided on the tire, Toyo AT3, but not quite yet on P vs LT. I’ll also be going with a 285/60R20.

This is my DD so it will be about 85% highway, and 15% dirt roads, fields, ditches, trails, no rock climbing.

Max towing weight would be 4000 pounds.

I would like to keep a comfy ride.

Good to go with the P rated?

If you have the option, I would keep the P rated unless you do a bunch of towing or offroading.

stay p rated. i was always team E rated on everything for those rare offroad trips. but in my old age, p rated/c rated rules. wifes 4runner still has D rated toyo at3's and I cant wait to go down to a p rated tire.

I went with P rated. I'm around 90% road.

I actually saved a couple pounds on each rim/tire combo doing that and changing out my 20s for 17s.

I wouldn't go above C rated unless max towing.

I may look at C for a few more ply and go 18’s.

Listen to everyone here - LT tires on a half ton truck are pointless for 90+% of people. They're much heavier and stiffer, even in a C-load. For your uses, you'll see no advantage - they'll just hurt your ride quality and your fuel economy.

Light truck wanting a good ride is pretty much P territory, no question about it. LTs can come it heavy and nearly impossible to get a good ride with the lighter the truck.

Just for comparison - I will be going with new wheels also, so doesn't have to be 20's.

I started a thread today about attempting to get a good ride by going with 18s over 20s. While it looks tough to find a P rated 33 on 18" wheels I think toyo makes one. Should make for a great ride!

I really don't want to go smaller than 33" so I may have to switch tires over to the Nitto G3.

Looks like they have a 275/70R18 116T Load Range SL at only 45lbs. I happen to like that wheel also, it's an Alphaequipt Echo.

My current choice of new tire as well until I hear about a better option!

You may want a 275/65 20. 34" and without protruding outside of the fenders w/ aftermarket wheels you'll keep your current MPG
