So the factory tires weigh 44 each, which I think is very good.
Your new tires weigh 52 each. No "weigh" you get the same mileage.

I = 1/2 * m * r^2 - otherwise this physics formula is wrong.

With rotational mass of acceleration and breaking - its like you added a phantom person that weighs about 160 pounds in the truck. When you spin stuff it weighs more... Not a huge difference, but it is not the same.

How is the sound/quiet etc?

So I think only one OEM tire is XL and that's the General Grabber HTS 60:
My Hankooks are 51 psi tires. Am I missing something?

They are SL tires no doubt but I thought Hamma was making a distinction for the SL 51psi tires which the Hankooks are.

I believe those tires to be SL labeled XL tires. You don't get 51psi rating without XLs strength.

I increased the psi to 36.5 cold/ 39 psi warm and it drove really well today. I’m slowly embracing these Hankook Dynapro AT2s and might just stay with them for towing and daily driving. Perhaps increase the psi to above 40 cold when towing heavy? My initial desire was to replace them with something better looking and “tougher”, but for actually doing the work I need done the boring OEM tires might be just the ticket.

Great stuff here.

Let me ask you this -

Trucks leveled, changed rear block to a 2” as I load the bed from time to time. The Nitto Terra Grappler G3 275/65 comes in an SL at 46lbs and an E option at 55lbs. With the rear being a tad higher, would the E load be a better option with more weight on the ground vs the SL? Would the E load provide a more planted feel with the additional rake? Pavement princess, no towing at all, in town driving.

Thanks for your insight.

Stiffer sidewalls are a double edged sword. You get stronger sidewalls, and when run w/ proper loading pressure, depending on the quality of the exact tires as purchased, it can/will impact ride. I think I'm lucky with the tires I have in that I care about ride quality and unless I go several PSI above what is needed for a load, it doesn't impact ride. Some people put up with a really bad ride to have some aesthetically pleasing (to them) looks. Others don't want any impact to ride quality. I couldn't begin to tell you what you're looking for or the ride you're willing to accept. I'd rate the handling capabilities of factory hankooks as poor/too compliant. Witness marks on the sidewall indicate that they were in fact allowing more slip angle than I wanted.
