just a dealer again for CSP 22B08. electronic control module recovery. updated failed again. a new APIM module was replaced. but still fails. Tech states Ford has many issue with sync 4 updates, but nothing works, now Tech is waiting for Engineering to response.
Anyone else have issue or how to fix issue??

how can I check if it was a battery issue?

Just got my truck back from 5 Star Ford Carrollton service and they did a great job. Fixed the update hang up, Blue Cruise, reset shift tables and did all the recalls (except wipers). I’m not sure what Power Up I’m on but I can at least schedule updates again.

Took my truck to a second dealer today as the first one scheduled me for 22b08 but then couldn't perform it because they didn't have the right cables. I made that clear to the second dealer who said it didn't require any special cables. Dropped off this morning and got the same BS response after my wife drove me back home 20 miles. Such a frustrating experience that Ford is sending out these letters and dealers are making the appointments when they can't do the work.

Good to hear. I have my truck scheduled for that work for the middle of July. How long did it take them to perform the update?

They had mine for 10 days. My 2-3 shift is much smoother. BlueCruise is cool but I don't trust it if there's much traffic around.

Thanks for the suggestions, borrowed a buddy’s charger and let it charge up this afternoon, just got the app notification that the truck just got done with the update. Will this one enable the blue cruise finally?
Might want to check the tightness of the terminals on the battery. My truck was starting no problem, Auto stop start worked. Was recieving several errors with cameras and with OTA. Was looking at the battery and happened to put my hand on the negative terminal and it spun. Was just sitting on the battery not even tighten. Tighten it up and haven't had a problem since.

Where are you located in Colorado? Castle Rock Ford performed the 22B08 repair on mine in a couple hours last Tuesday. This was after Phil Long tried two times over 12 days to fix it and failed. They said I needed a new APIM. I've already gotten 3 OTA updates since last Wednesday when I picked it up, 2.1.0, 2.1.1 and 2.6.0. It is on version 22087, revision 415.

Interesting part is I got the last two updates while driving even though I've run a trickle charger and have a great Wifi signal at my house. I think I got the first one driving home from the dealer last wed., I just didn't notice till an hour later when it showed up on my Fordpass.

All of my dealings with Castle Rock Ford have been 5 star. It's the only place I'll go from now on even though they are 40+ miles away.

We’ll, after 8 months of no OTA updates. I finally let the local Ford dealer have my truck. After 8 hours and a new battery no luck. Phase 1 failed. I guess the technician will call Ford on Monday to learn more on phase 2. I was happy I got my truck back. I kind of feel bad for the guy’s preforming the work, it seems like some shops get it and some don’t. Not very standardized service. I really like the truck, but Ford is working there way down.

2021 F150 on order
I have had my truck at the dealer at least 5 times for this. Two different dealers. I also tried to do it myself in between. The first dealer had no luck. Then I tried myself and was getting a fastboot error where it said the truck wasn't connected when it was. The second dealer then tried with no luck and said my VIN was black listed. Then they had it again the other day and I am not sure if they tried again but they ended up ordering me a new APIM I believe. Hopefully that will solve it.

My dealer said they have had more unsuccessful units than successful one. They have at least three of us that they have to contact Ford for further help. They are a small dealer. They thought that I was going to be mad that they couldn’t get it done. I told them to relax it may take awhile. There have been people without their truck for weeks. We don’t want that to happen. Like I said before, I hope this group of trucks don’t end up having a stigma following them.

I'm in Boulder County. Tried Longmont and Interstate Ford and neither could attempt it but they both made the appointment for the CSP.

My 2021 kept going into sleep mode. The dealer checked it once and sent it back with me and then it did it the next day. Took it back and they put a new battery in it. Now that you said something, I remember it not shutting off at the lights until they put a new battery in it and now I no why. That truck is someone else's issue now but I hope the 2022 don't start that .

Just had my truck at the dealer for the 3rd time (22B08). First 2 times were for the greyed out buttons and yesterday for the official recall. The first 2 times they didn't know what to do and after spending all day there yesterday all I got was "it didn't go through" bring it back when you have the next oil change and we will try again. How frustrating that some dealers can get it done and some are clueless. I called another dealer fairly close by and the first question he asked was did I buy it here and when I said no he said we are booking for next January if its not one of ours. I think Ford needs better communication with its Dealers.

I think it's the dealers need to start caring and actually use, read, understand, and train their technicians (and sales staff) with the materials Ford provides. The TSBs on how to perform the updates are very detailed, but it's pretty obvious based on many posts here that dealers aren't reading the first page let alone the rest of the instructions.
