Make sure the drive is formatted to exFAT. When naming your USB drive, make sure your volume label is 8 characters or less, alpha numeric only, no spaces.

Also make sure it didn't change it to a zip file or something weird. Windows like to do stupid stuff to file names sometimes.

I wasn’t getting OTA updates. I turned OFF the HOTSPOT and scheduled updates for that evening. That evening, I got an update. Two days later (tonight), internal modem off, and another update is rolling in.

My 1 year old never did a OTA till about 6 weeks ago when it woke up and did the 22S17. According to the message, it had successfully installed. Well, not quite as i had the truck in for something else a week later and they installed it again. Not impressed by the one and only OTA update.

I dropped off my F-150 yesterday for the OTA update failures. I told them what I’ve learned on this forum. They new everything I said to them. They told me they will fix it no problem. He also new about the fake update for the trailer brakes and said there should be an update for the update eventually. He also new that when I did the update for the trailer brakes they used an old update from February. This is also a new Ford dealer I went to. My old Ford dealer couldn’t answer my questions. I quickly choose a new dealer. We will see.

I did Jesse's ThumbDrive fix...
It almost worked, I think.
I saw the system say "Updating" in the top left corner when I was driving, and remained there for 20mins or so.
But it then said "USB error"...

I turned the truck off for about 20mins, and when I returned the screen was black and it took about 10 mins to turn back on...

Net result: No change...

Did it work with the update, and I ruined it by not letting it 'cook' long enough when I turned the truck off?

Or, is something else amiss?
