So after searching multiple threads across all the different F-150 forums I decided to permanently mount a NOCO Genius 10x1 Pro charger under the hood of my 2022 Platinum with the 3.5L Ecoboost non-hybrid. I installed it with the positive directly to the battery terminal and the negative to the load side of the BMS connection on the battery per all the instructions posted on all the forums so that the truck would know the SOC. My battery was replaced by Ford under warranty about 18 months ago and I've noticed lately that it's been going into sleep mode so I decided to install a charger as I travel a lot for work so there are times my truck will sit for a month or so without being started. This is the first weekend I've had the charger installed and after checking it periodically throughout the weekend it never seems to go above the 25% charged light on the charger. The truck has never sounded like it has issues starting nor has it acted like there have been any battery issues outside of it going to deep sleep mode after not driving it for a bit. The battery the dealer installed is a Motorcraft H6. Would the battery have gone that weak in such a short time? I know they are supposed to be smart chargers but with it just sitting on the 25% SOC lights flashing all weekend I am not sure if I feel comfortable leaving the charger hooked up the next time I have to take an extended work trip. Just curious if anyone else here has had any similar experiences. I hate to go spend the money on a new battery if it's not really an issue and I know from searching other forums that the Platinum had the H7 as the recommended battery size so when I do purchase one I am going to up in size. Also I bought the truck used and I noticed it doesn't have the insulation wrap around the battery but the dealer didn't say anything about that one way or another.
