Apples seem to have it forced on them, whereas so far, Androids haven't.

Fordpass V5 definitely sucks. Glad I didnt click update all apps and screw myself when they released it.

There is a guy that has a bunch of shortcuts for different ford vehicles.

He is very quick to fix them when Ford changes their API ever so slightly.

Hey Ford, you asked; are you hearing what owner's think? I guess you're admitting to not having a clue about how to develop software, and going back to basics. I don't think anyone has even mentioned you removing all the ProPower functionality from the app, and that is after you ripped out the original bluetooth functions of the original app that I had when I first got my truck. It looked promising that I would be able to control the generator from my camper, but it never completely worked and then you just removed it completely.

You've gotten a lot of people to spend 80-90k on a truck and then removed features, and had all kinds of software-related issues. We basically have to buy a $700 cable and purchase FDRS licenses just to keep our trucks up to date and working.

I still think you could get your act together and make this right, but gutting the mobile app isn't the way to do it and makes you look really bad.

If you continue to be this bad at software engineering, I don't see this ending well.

Not to mention how absolutely clueless it is to do something like this to the app and then try to spin it as an upgrade and ask people what they think about it.

I built out the original Shortcuts from this post and /u/tinybtg took over. He also created a discord server you can join to stay up to date with the latest fixes.

Ah, you are correct. Since I saw his comment at the top, I figured he was the OP. Deleting whoever's stuff I posted.

Brandon is also working on an app and some widgets as well. Unfortunately for our android friends, he is only developing for iOS.

I too am bummed about the loss of features. I certainly hope they do not return as part of a new subscription service.

You know it is coming, other manufactures charge a subscription fee for remote start!!

Hi F-150 owners! If you recently updated your FordPass® app, you may have noticed it looks a little different. We are pleased to share that we have rolled out a newly designed app.

It is easy to use and efficient, reducing the number of steps it takes to access functions to help you better manage your vehicle remotely. Also, instead of having to hold down a button to turn the vehicle ‘on’, this is now a simplified slider.

Additionally, if you have an Apple Watch, along with lock/unlock and remote start/stop, you will also be able to use the following features from your wrist:

• Activate horn and lights remotely
• View vehicle location
• View fuel level and range, for gasoline-powered vehicles
• View fuel level, battery and range, as well as total combined, for hybrid vehicles

We are also continuing to improve in-app experience with this latest version. If you notice a feature you previously used before is no longer there, don’t worry, the feature can still be accessed via your in-vehicle touchscreen.

My guess would be FORD is getting ready to set up subscription services for the features that you want to use in the App. Once you subscribe , your worries will be gone .

Taking away existing features on existing vehicles to charge for them would be bold. I hope you're wrong!

This morning the maps are doing the no work thing again

At least give us the option to roll the revision back if we want to! Yes, the slide to start is nice, but not worth losing everything else like the trailer light test among many other things. The enemy of good enough is better!

So I have a Samsung watch and I can't do all these things on my watch. I am hoping they are just playing catch up and there is not some deal with Apple.

I will say some things that were working on 5.0 are now working. I now have my recommended tire pressure and it no longer thinks I need an oil change at 300 miles.

I don't know why they changed the app, lots of reason from they changed IT vendor and don't have the source code to it or had security/reliability issues due to bad coding.

Ok, I had to edit this as I noticed other things not working as noted by others:
Location won't even do anything, it just sits there. The other buttons, links do at least go somewhere.

My software is set to Auto Update, but the App says it is not.

It’s a hybrid. Not a plug in so there is nothing to show for the battery. It’s only 1.5kwh anyway. The old app did show range and had a lot of other features.

Yep, I know all this. The point of my post was to demonstrate that Ford doesn't bother to read, verify, and approve their posts before making them.
