There is so much room for improvement with Google maps and other maps platform by including AI predictive features. What is missing from most IOS auto mapping programs is look ahead warnings of distant traffic or road closures. When Waze first came out they had look ahead alerting. This worked by looking down your current route 100 or 200 miles looking for major highway issues then giving you an alternate suggestion. Some mapping apps do this when you first enter the route but do not keep looking down the road for new events until you are almost on top of them. Now most mapping apps wait until you are almost up to a road closure before alerting you. Likewise AI could review your route and give you predictions of traffic based on historical trends and offer alternates. This would be very useful for situations where your route included passing through a major city during rush hours but you are still a few hours out of town, then plot a course through through or around a city that accounts for historical traffic conditions at the time of your arrival.
I try to look ahead, maps is starting to get a little smarter in that regard. If I see a long stretch of red it's been habit to just repeat the destination instructing fastest route. Google as a company is just a mess right now given their internal ideological issues that have rotted them at the core level. Its cost them a lot of good talent. They invented the transformer ai model that's currently fueling much of the ai expansion, and they didn't really do anything with it. Some of the models they've churned out have been fed garbage ideology and have produced some really bad results.

Now from google maps screen you can add road closures, accidents, speed traps, etc....
They're basically taking more waze features and making them native in maps.... finally.

Now they just need a good voice capability so you can hit the steering wheel voice button and say something like "add a speed trap 1/2 mile back"
lol , I wasn’t paying attention after the update but thought I hit Waze in CarPlay because those features popped up about a cop and a wreck and wanted me to comment if it was still there. Nice.

if you’re not seeing it on CarPlay yet you will eventually. it is both an app update and a server side change so if you have the latest Google maps iOS app and you’re still not seeing it, you need your account to get the server side change as well.

I have the TestFlight beta version of the app, but still do not have the option to report and I’m waiting for them to flip the switch on the back end for me.

This is what it will look like once it’s available to you.

Funny enough this was tested by Google on carplay prior to android auto

Interesting that yours is a test version yet doesn't show the "actual speed" of your vehicle..

The screenshots aren’t mine. Reporting hasn’t been enabled for my account on the server side yet, although they do regularly add and remove features in the beta, so it would not be abnormal for a current feature to be missing

apologies thought it was, and makes sense, with how glitchy it seems on mine, I'm surprised it was publicly released, though with the current state of google it isn't surprising.

So I finally received this update in Android Auto. I was really looking forward to it because Google Maps is a pretty good navigation tool.
However, this is one of the dumbest things I've seen. Why the limit, what's the point? Do you not want to make the maps 'live' with up-to-date details?? You do, so why are you limiting the number of reports I can submit?
Back to Waze.

Yeah, that's a Google Maps "feature" not specific to the Android Auto nor the F150. I've run into this on a few road trips in the past. It appears to be a certain number of interactions in a specific period of time. The only justification for Google to do this is for "safety" reasons. If you're being "too helpful" you're clearly not paying attention to the road. ?

Glad they added this. If you have ever followed a Waze spammer you know the problem. Makes the reporting all but worthless.

Of course, speed trap is on the very very bottom of the list, not the first thing.

I did notice using Google maps (not in dash) that the report button has changed. I suppose this is to point out the feature more to those that were not seeing it.
