Came across this video when searching for what it means to have 20 micron filtration at 99% efficiency. The Fram is identical to the Amsoil.

Then I came across this thread when searching for the price on the Fram.

I get member pricing on my Amsoil so the filters aren't that expensive as full retail. I'll probably just continue to use the Amsoil filters and oil and do 5000-7500 mile OCI's.

The AMSOIL filter is a leaker……
They have a defective spring plate for the bypass valve. It allows unfiltered oil through continuously.

Can you cite your source? Would love to see proof / video of the Amsoil filter bleeding off pressure as you describe, versus the Fram for example.

It’s not bleeding off pressure, oil is leaking past the filter. It’s a rather well known issue with Champ Labs’ filters.

Champ Labs makes AMSOIL, Fram, Royal Purple, Bosch…..can’t remember who else.
All will have the same flaws
