If it were the Powerboost version, I'd buy a few.
Then recoup the expense at some time in the future by rescuing a Powerbooster that's caught out of warranty.
I don't know what the Powerboost battery assembly will cost 5 or 6 years from now when the 2021's are beyond 8/100k, but I bet it's well past $500

They're the same battery. The only difference is the external mounts being attached or not. This seller doesn't know what he's got. The 22+ explorer hybrid's drivetrain / parts are the same from the PB --- including the trans. I'm surprised it's not in an expedition already as well.

Been trying to explain for a couple of years that the porky-ness of the Powerboost is NOT from the Hybrid Battery.

I think a good portion, half or more, of the additional weight comes from the heavy duty frame. The Raptor weighs about the same as the PB and It also has a heavy duty frame.

Similar frame weights and then the PB adds hybrid components while the Raptor adds off road components to reach that 5,800lb range.
It’s their strong frames sir.

Admittedly it's undersprung and underdamped anyway, so the frame isn't the determing factor it could be regardless.

If it's true that the Super Duty is destined to get Powerboosted, then I'll get over Ford's intentional gimping of the Mighty Powerboost. But I'm never gonna forget. Lol

Ford's removed them from the site. The only unique part would be the BECM, which are interchangable. The 24 and earlier explorers have a L1M8 prefix on the BECM, whereas 21+ F150s and 24+ nautilus hybrid 25+ explorer use the PB's BECM.

It's still listed on third party OEM parts sites like youroempartsstore.com (a dealership parts center in Eagle Pass TX) but they list it as not for sale and not able to be shipped due to hazardous materials.

It would be so nice if we could somehow expand the hybrid battery capacity...
