Front strut mistake... need a fix

I have an impact. They put the torque the hardware so damn tight from the factory you need one to loosen anything. I haven't dove in to the endless well of suspension upgrades. But depending on how much just the shock is I might think about upgrading. My only hesitation is I've only had this truck for a few weeks and want to get my money's worth out of the upgraded shocks I paid for.

So I got the stud out but no one has the size I need in stock and the new cap I ordered comes in tomorrow so I basically did recreational maintenance. I ended up drilling out the stud. Even prying on it, heating the nut/stud separately, nothing else worked.
