While seasoning my wrought iron crepe pan in the oven for a couple hours, I thought I'd go on a hunt ?. Now, tell me if I'm wrong, but:
- we know this part is discontinued
- the part bases that stick / clip to the windshield are different to all of ours
So, here's what I found:
Part# 10 is the one, I'll bet:

You can see it's for a 2020, so I also bet that they ran out of normal ones, or they were experimenting before the modern part came in ?‍♂?

I think you have a very "unique" build there ?

It appears to be a holder for an Electronic Toll Collection Transponder - (see image below from a 24 Mustang wiring diagram). This part doesn't show on any 2023-24 F150 Wiring Diagrams for either the gas or electric versions.

Makes sense, and the lack of it being offered is likely due to too many discrete systems. Probably for E-Zpass but in typical fashion, there's still too many that refuse to standardize transponders. That was one of my original thoughts but didn't think an OEM would go for one in particular given the variety at large. 19 states use E-Zpass.

I think so too! Extremely odd that there would be a windshield available for it but no wiring or part to go there
Who knows. Could have been on hold for a windshield and they just tossed that one in.

i saw that post too, at first i thought it was the rain sensor housing but when i looked closer i noticed that its to the right of the center mirror cover. i looked up different types of windshields but non of them had this housing. at this point i think that its for some sort of dashcam which was deleted in this case. @Jesse-Infotainment any ideas?

That's the button that's used for the trailer-mounted auxiliary camera. Has nothing to do with the windshield.

If the part listed fits a 2020, i bet its for that POS lane sensor that never worked.. 4 years of a continuous error message.
