recognize that with E-10 you're only getting ~95% of the energy per gallon that you'd get with straight gasoline.

E100 is a bit of a misnomer because you can’t distill anhydrous ethanol and E96 or E98 is as much as you can hope for without creating something so hygroscopic that it would just pull the water out of the air anyway and no longer be E100.
Great word! Hygroscopic.
Takes me back to my drinking days and the way I felt in the morning.

65mph is the sweet spot while accelerating mildly. I get 18+ highway on e85, but I'm also tuned on a performance map. 3.31 gears, 20in welds. Tires are big though, looking to change that when it's time to replace them. I think my mpg might be higher as I had the stock chrome 18s on it before? But idk how that works.

I'll test out the mpg on the stock tune that has auto start/stop and cylinder deactivation activated some time soon.

I'm probably not using the right term.. What I should have said was the 2024 5.0 can't use E-85..

You’re good. I’m wondering what changed with the engine design that it no longer can manage the e85?

I'm not sure either.. But my best guess it's related to the EPA milage dance regulations but mainly cost savings.. Didn't it used to be a option?

2024 5.0 is not flex fuel..
Do you have a source for this? Because I'm looking at the 2024 F150 preliminary technical specifications sheet and E85 is listed right there. I screen shot it, but this site doesn't seem to upload screenshots from phones or I'm in a poor service area.

Edit: ah, I see that someone else confirmed at the dealer, that's crazy.

Option? No. The 21-23 were E85 capible. All of the 5.0's.

No yellow sticker on any 24 5.0 that i have seen. My 22 has the yellow sticker on the door.

This is what the fuel door sticker looks like on my 21. I'd assume the 24's would have some version of this.

Pretty odd that they wouldn't be Flex fuel.

Maybe I'm just cynical, but a dealer confirming it doesn't mean just a whole lot. Dealer is probably just cya since there seems to be confusion.

What is up with Ford lately? The 24 seems like a downgrade in many ways to the 21 to 23
