Muffler swap

I ended up going with the borla #400500. It still has a little drone at cruising speed but it doesn’t bother me at all. It sounds pretty good and is definitely better than stock, I wish I would’ve gone with it the first time

Is it really drone, or just hearing the muffler?

I would look into a vibrant ultra quiet resonator and run it without a muffler. Perfect deep rumble, it opens up when you floor it, nice start up sound. I have a video in the exhaust section. Also backroad driver has it in some of there older videos!

Spintech mufflers are also really good, and they’ll make anything you want/need if they don’t have something for your custom set up.

Just do a muffler delete, exit right before the rear tire with a cheap parts store exhaust tip with the built in resonator. Should cost less than $150.

Messaged with Borla CS and it was good info on their muffler lineup.



obviously size of mufflers come into play, but attached is general consensus. Did say the XR-1 would be similar to S-Type, maybe a bit less loud.

Oh god I wish I knew this before ?‍ I got the 6.5 ft bed and tow a lot, was looking for something slightly louder/deeper than stock

I had a single PROXS on my 14 5.0 with duals out the back. Sounded great, not a lot of drone at all.

I think it sounds really good. I don't consider it drone but can't really hear at 80. Once bit to 2500 rpm you obviously can hear it.
Note 75 on my Speedo is 80 due to 35" tires.
