Went to install an amp and subwoofer setup in the truck yesterday and when I pulled the all weather mats out the drivers side floorboard was soaking wet, I have always thought that there was a musty smell when it would rain hard, etc. Well, seems to be true, had a friend at work that has a mobile detailing service help me out to try and extract the water and it was so soaked in the foam padding that I decided it would be best to just rip it out.

My plan is to maybe simulate rain with a lawn sprinkler to see if I can pin point where it is coming from and fix the leak, then reinstall new carpet, or wait until we get some big rain and check then. The job to rip it out wasn't too bad and I don't think install would be any worse. Just sucks big time. I have no recalls for windshield seal or anything like that, also do not have a sun roof (for this reason).

I would think the windshield seal. Hit that area with a hose and see. Good luck!

I had a hose on it for 10-15 min yesterday before ripping out the carpet and could not find anything, also had the A pillar removed to see if i was getting in from there

Check the rear window seal. When that goes bad LOTS of water ends up in the cab

Could it come in near the door seal? Like maybe a door alignment is off somehow?

Check your antenna distribution wave corrugator, those tend to leak from too many hyperspace jumps. :p

Check the vents on the rear panel of the cab behind the rear seats. They have been known to leak.

Have you moved any wires through the firewall on the drivers side?

I'm curious on this, cause I do park nose down at home and my driveway is steep. Might be leaking from there then gravity is taking it up front but the drivers side up front pan was bar far the most wet

I was going to ask about your driveway. Make sense that it would be coming from the back of you are parked like that. Probably the vents on the back.

I just pulled the sound insulation and both vents are clipped in snug and all louvers are in tact. I’ll see what the water tells me tomorrow in that area.
