Manual Transmission Swap

Here's to hoping I don't get flamed. Without dismissing this as pie in the sky pipe dreams, I saw an article where some hears ago MRT performance mated a tremec to the ecoboost 13th gen. Has anyone entertained the jdea of manual swapping a basic 5.0 liter 2wd base f150? This is my dream configuration, but with the death of manuals, the only player in town is the tacoma--which I don't want.

I understand it goes beyond a pedal box, mounts, and driveshaft. Mostly concerned with the ecu management. Could a piggyback help disable errors as a result of the swap? Hoping a 2wd configuration would help simplify this dream.

Anything is possible with enough time and money. The real question should be is it worth it to you?

Whatever dollar/time estimate you have in your head will likely be double to triple in reality. I've done similar projects and found that to be consistent.

For the record, I would never discourage a man's ambition. But I also am honest enough to admit when I don't have enough. This one is a bit daunting.

I saw something about GM doing something with one of the camaro's 10 speeds that was firing off shifts faster than DCTs. I like banging gears, but being able to get this out of the 10 speed is nuts.



Given that my trans is in perfect working order and only slightly gotten on, upgrading the E and F clutches with their valve body is tempting.

What about putting the aviator's electric motor into the powerboost and increasing its batt 2.6x? How much would that cost ?
600hp / 800tq tuned on 93 pump gas? Yes please.

I've seen 4x4 '66 Mustangs... anything is possible.
My father in law chopped 30" out of a '57 station wagon, ugliest car on the planet, but I love him and tell, "nice job! Looks great!"

I all ready picked my project, ordered my 5.2 Predator crate engine off Ford Performance website this morning with the controller. I look forward to the overall improvements to my truck, as I will now be living in the cab full time going forward to afford the swap.
